SnapVillage.com / In or Out for Subs on SV?
« on: June 16, 2008, 12:04 »
Well even though I said I wouldn't sign with another new stock, I registered with Snap Village last nite based on Dolgchov's request to test the registration process.

Really don't know too much about the workings there. Is it advisable to opt In or Out for subscriptions on this service?

« on: April 25, 2008, 11:01 »
I got my first rejection at StockXpert yesterday. It said

Please improve illustration. Thanks! ;-)

Yes who ever did put a little smiley on there. Such a change of pace,

Stumbled upon this on the web when searching for someting else. It's a blog post - the site is not even built yet. Another, "yeah we'll pay you to upload" a la Albumo. And the Test Submission criteria ridiculous, if not ambiguous. Take a read for yourself.

General Stock Discussion / Generic Model Release?
« on: April 11, 2008, 14:28 »
I have always used a generic model release for Rights Managed stuff. Plain, simple and't's always worked. But I see the micros are into this witnessing thing, wanting phone, email, rights to first born male child, etc.

Does anyone have a link to a model release thay will work for SS, IS, and DT?

I also notice that in some cases, like in the case of the iStock photo release which is pretty wordy, they seem to want to indenify IS in particular. Has anyone had a problem with stripping all the IS baloney and using it?

My generic release still works for RM stuff. Yes I have added this "Witness" thing. But will IS, SS, and DT bounce back the generic? The models I deal with are not really interested in signing 5 pieces of paper, plus I have older worthwhile shots (about 2 years back) that can be submitted where I would have to track down people to get additional sigs.

Any worthwhile comments welcome. Thanks!

Based on some recent posts about some of the small entities and people who want to quit, can't find the owner, can't get paid etc., be aware that these may be money laundering schemes as well.

« on: March 22, 2008, 15:38 »
I just started uploading a few to FOT a few days ago. There is one I just uploaded on Thurs, already approved, has one view, and already one sale! Has to be a new record for me.

It is am image of a splash on a pool of chocolate.

Just a note of encouragement for everyone out there. It does happen.

StockXpert.com / Initial APplication at StockXpert?
« on: March 14, 2008, 15:29 »
Can anyone share any insight about waiting time initial application reviews at StockXpert? I submitted the requisite batch of 5 last Friday. Nothing back yet except for the boilerplate thank you email.

As a note, I submitted 4 illustrations (not vector) and one photo. In case this makes any difference. Not whining, just wondering so I can do some planning regarding future strategies. Thanks!
