Hi!
Thanks for your feedback and comments, they are important to us! We have unfortunately had a major bug in the system, which has resulted in that certain functions has not worked as it should. Our technology department is working on these issues. We are once again really sorry for all the trouble and hope that this will be resolved very soon.
Thanks for your patience and cooperation!

Sincerely/

Mostphotos.com / Re: Images in a Series
« on: July 15, 2013, 07:31 »
Hi Chris,

I'll just post the same answer here as I sent you to your e-mail, if anyone else reads this :).

Remember friends, I try to check this forum regularly but the easiest & quickest way of getting help is by e-mailing to [email protected]

Below is the info about images in series.

Best Regards,
Lina

Series

Series are created automatically when several images have the same keywords and title.
So if you want specific images to be in a series, just make sure they have the same keywords and title.

You do this by going to Upload/Mediacloud/Library. You can select several images at once, make the changes and click "save".
I would suggest that you select all the images you want to be in a series, click on "tags", delete all tags and titles and "save" and then , while the images are still selected, click "tags" again and add the tags you want, add the title you want and then click "save". This way they will all have the same title and tags and become a series.

Hi Icefront!

We agree with you, the wording is wrong. There are restrictions if you buy the image with the RF standard license, so you can not "enjoy unlimited use in your future projects" for instance.

Thank you for your feedback, we will correct this!

If you ever have any other feedback or any questions, please e-mail us at [email protected]

Mostphotos.com / Re: Mostphotos FTP upload gone?
« on: April 29, 2013, 05:58 »
FTP server stuck for 4 days. I've sent a note each day and no response. Another site off my upload list.

Hi!

The ftp has been working fine for us but I got an e-mail from a user today saying there was a problem. This is now fixed. Could you check if it's OK for you too and let me know if it isn't?

Where did you send us notes about this? I haven't received anything from the webpage or directly to our support e-mail so I need to investigate why your mails hasn't come through, it is definitely not OK that you have not received an answer for several days.

In another entry you also say that it is no longer easy to upload images (even when it's working), could you tell me why? And I will see if we can tweak it to your liking.

Best Regards,
Lina @ Mostphotos

Mostphotos.com / Re: What a crappy coding.....
« on: April 16, 2013, 11:25 »
Thank you Lina, I have found it at all my folders. Next question, how do I associate newly uploaded images with these folders as I did not find any obvious place to create the link?

Good to hear!

To add images to an album, you go to your portfolio page, click on the album you want to add images to, chooses "manage album" and "add photos".

This is also explained in one of the manuals in the help center:
http://help.mostphotos.com/customer/portal/articles/1007307-albums

Let me know if you have any further questions!

Best Regards,
Lina

Hi Lina

Did you not see my question? An answer will be appreciated.

Charl

Hi Charl!

I answered you above but it's easy to miss. Everything should have been transferred so no, you should not have to do it all over again. I am happy to take a look at your account and help you find everything. Could you send me an e-mail with your username to [email protected]?

Thank you!

Lina @ Mostphotos

My apology, did not see that. Can you just direct me on the forum here how to get to it. If my old folders are supposed to be in "My Collections" then I do have an individual problem, as it is empty and I had about 25 folders (light boxes).

Hi Charl.

In "My Collections" you find other photographer's images that you have saved.
In "Albums" you find your own photographs that you have organized in folders/albums.
You find your albums by going to your portfolio page.

In our help center you find manuals for both albums, collections and much more:
http://help.mostphotos.com/customer/portal/topics/454000-portfolio-page/articles

However, we have not had "lightboxes" for 5 years so if that was the last time you organized photos, there is a chance they were not transferred when the lightboxes dissapeared 5 years ago. But in that case I would like to try and fix that for you.

I hope the above helps, if not please send me an e-mail with your username to [email protected] so that I can have a look at your specific accounts.

Best Regards,
Lina @ Mostphotos

I am still confused. In the old site I had all my images in different folders/light-boxes. Are these all gone now? Must I redo all of them into the new folders/own categories again?

Hi!

No, everything should have been transferred. Could you send me an e-mail to [email protected] with your username and I will take a look at this asap and help you?

Oh boy, my 12 year old son can do that better....

1: If i filter the "Mediacloud" by Unpublished it says 1800 pictures (thats not possible because i only uploaded 150 new ones)
2: If i go to the section "Publish" (looks like the new darkroom) it says "You have nothing to publish"

Who coded that crap? Franz Kafka?

Has somebody a hint?
Regards A.

Hi Axel,

do you still have problems with this? If yes, please send me an e-mail with your username to [email protected] and I will help you right away.

In our Help Center (at the bottom of our page) you find manuals explaining the most common functions, for instance:
http://help.mostphotos.com/customer/portal/articles/976816-how-do-i-upload-images-

In short, to publish the images you need to add language, title, minimum 2 tags and choose if the image is editorial or royalty free and if it contains nude content or not. After that is filled out the images will automatically be ready for publishing so that you can just go to "publish" and click "yes, publish these images".

Before the help desk has been understaffed but now you will get help right away if you e-mail to [email protected]

Hi guys!

Just wanted to let you know that a function to choose a default language is on it's way!
We are also working on putting in hints and tips on the page to guide you on how to upload, tag etc.

It is the same for me too. The same problem is with MostPhotos too, vut with MostPhotos it been for a very long time already.

Hi!

A member reported this last week so we have fixed it. If you every have any issues, please let us know at [email protected] and we'll take a look asap.

Microstock Man!

We are glad that you are glad! :)

I haven taken your request about referrals to the developers. They will fix it but it will probably end up on the "referral page". And this one might take a little longer to get done, we have a few other improvements in uploading, tagging, search results, exposing photographers that have not sold so much and more that are at the top of the list.

If you, or anyone else, come up with any more ideas, please go ahead and e-mail them to me on [email protected]! We really appreciate our members telling us what they like and don't like.

A monthly total, split between sales and referrals, is now implemented to the right in "transactions", just below "earnings"!

The old uploading process was so much better.  Now it takes me about 10 minute for each single photo to up load.  So I stopped uploading there.  Too bad to change a good thing.  I won't waste my time there.

Hi Oscar,

It should definitely not take that long! Could you send me an e-mail to [email protected] with your nickname/e-mail and what problems you are experiencing? I will then take a look right away and make sure you can upload images within seconds, not minutes.

Of course, sales is what any business is about!

And just as with the webpage, functions, customer-and technical support and everything else, we are constantly working on improving. We have found new investors and just in the last couple of months we have hired a new marketing director, several sales accountants to bring in more and more buyers and have a done a lot of work in SEO and social media. And more is to come, we are putting all our focus on marketing and sales.

If you would like specific feedback, have any issues at all or any ideas on what we can do to increase sales or improve the page, please send us an e-mail to [email protected].

We are also working on a new formula that will take more factors into consideration when it comes to search results. We hope to find a good balance between rightfully rewarding contributors that sell well but also give exposure to photographers that have not sold so well yet. We are also working on other ways for all of you to get more exposure.

We will keep you posted on this!

I'm selling at mostphotos: (www.mostphotos.com/photopat) and I like the site but I don't understand that you can't find a total of sales per month. I see all the photos I sold but I have to count them one by one to get my total. Is there a way around this?

A monthly total will be implemented under "transactions"!

Lina @ Mostphotos

Panthermedia,
Featurepics,
Mostphotos,
Cutcaster,
Scanstockphoto,
Clipdealer,
Photokore

At these agencies, you can't get the amount you made by month. You have to do the maths every month... too bad!
To these agencies: please, implement the little code  ::)

Hi guys!

This has just been added to our to-do list!

One annoying thing about mostphotos is they make you pick the language every time. This should be a default setting, but you can't publish without it.

You can choose to select all images on one page and choose language and "save".
This way you don't have to do it image by image. The same goes for tags etc. If you want the tag "sun" on all images on that page, mark them all and add the tag "sun" and save.

Creating a default option for language is on the to-do list!

Hey guys!

Once you have clicked on "transactions" you can choose to download your income as a CSV-file.
This gives you an overview of all your sales and if you wish you can sort and calculate that by month.

Let me know if you ever have any questions!

Many questions can also be answered via our Help Center at the bottom of the page.

Mostphotos.com / Re: Most photos - new "midstock" site!
« on: March 25, 2013, 04:24 »
Hi guys.

The "popular contribution" is mainly for you as contributors, like a photography community, and is a very appreciated feature amongst most of our photographers.

Regarding the search results we are working on a new formula that will take more factors into consideration, not only past sales but also for example "potential". This is, as some of you pointed out above, a tricky formula. We hope to find a good balance between rightfully rewarding contributors that sell well but also give exposure to photographers that have not sold so well yet. Apart from the search enginge formula we are also working on some other ways for you all to get more exposure.

We will keep you posted on this!

@mostphotos support
From what I am reading in this thread it seems that where your images come in the search position is largely based on how many people 'like' your photo.  Is that still true? As I will never contribute to a site where my images can be  pushed back behind inferior images just because  a group of people are forming ratings gangs.

Well, when you go to "explore" and look at "popular contributions", that is true.
However, that is not how the buyers look for images. They search for keywords and then it is the images that have been sold and viewed the most that end up first in the search results.

We are working on a new formula that will take more factors into consideration but it will never be likes that determine what comes up first in the buyers' searches.

I hope that answers your question!

Keyword relevance
Part I: Add many and relevant descriptive keywords so that when buyers search for a specific theme/motif that your image could match, your photo shows up. You need to almost try to foresee which different campaigns the buyers could use your photo in and what words they will search for. (Many of you know this)
Part II: "Our search engine keeps track of keyword relevance". What this means is that if you post a picture of a zebra and tag it "zebra" "animal" "africa" and "bicycle", our search engine is being taught to disregard of the tag that isn't relevant (bicycle). (This is an ongoing progress).

High resolution
We accept photos that are minimum 5 mpx but we recommend that your photos have a higher resolution than that.

Marketing
Just as with the webpage, functions, customer-and technical support and everything else, we are constantly working on improving. We have found new investors and just in the last couple of months we have hired a new marketing director, several sales accountants to bring in more and more buyers and have a done a lot of work in SEO and social media. I have been with MP for over 1 year now. The figures are not very much encouraging. I am thinking of quitting MP. The biggest issue is, you can upload what ever you wish. Nobody bothers whether there is any quality in those images. This is like crowd sourcing the images. Too low sale. I still stand on zero. I took jump out of pond and got with the premium agencies now. I am quite happy there.

Hi friends!

Here are some tips to sell more of your photos.
Other tips and manuals can be found in our Help Center at the bottom of our page.
http://help.mostphotos.com

1. Build your self a large portfolio with commercial viable images. The photographers who have good sales have often large portfolios.

2. Publish images with good quality. It's possible to zoom in to 100% and when a buyer does that you don't want them to see a noisy image.

3. To provide relevant keywords are very important. Mostphotos search engine keeps track of keywords relevance.

Apart from developing and improving the page in general we are also working on a new ranking system that will give photos with potential bigger exposure, not only photos that has proven to sell.

If you ever have any questions or issues, send us an email at [email protected] and we will help you asap.

Best Regards,
Lina @ Mostphotos
