Shutterstock.com / Re: Race to level 2
« on: January 11, 2023, 16:31 »
Level 5 with 5113 video downloads...

What . are these sales!? 3300 in the first week of 2023. 0,25 each. 10000 from 18th of December. I thought it was some sales that they log at the end of the year, but they still continue and i climb in the contributor levels...

3
I've got 6800 video pack sales in the last week. About $0,25 each

What do you guys think of Blackbox.global adding 2 million+ files to the collection? That's gonna hurt sales and hurt the whole market..

5
I'm not on any Unlimited subs plan site and my sales look like this....

6
Me too!

March $415,39
April $395,62
May $11,12

Not a single one video sale!
*, this is frustrating!

7
There's something really fishy going on with SS and Blackbox.
Almost nothing seems to go through.
If you compare the Blackboxguild portfoilo on SS and P5, you'll see that only half of the files end up on SS and the gap is growing.
SS has 750000, Pond5 has 1,4 Million files

8
Completely dead for me also. Would be nice to know when they report "all" the "hundreds" of subscription sales I've already got....

9
3- 5 dollar sales coming soon.
Time to take action???

Shutterstock just introduced a 10 clip for $159 and a 20 clip for $195 dollar subscription.

Dear *****

Weve identified a new footage market that will help give your clips a new opportunity to be discovered and licensed. Clips of yours that are undiscovered on our website will be tested on new platforms with a limited use license structure. You have been selected among other footage contributors to participate in this new limited license program that will give you opportunities to earn more.

This program is part of a new footage marketplace that reaches an audience of millions who have never bought traditional stock footage before. These customers will have a very limited license to use the footage clips; clips will be licensed for use on a single platform to produce short-form digital content.

This limited license is separate and purely incremental to the value your clips can earn on Shutterstock.com under the broader licenses granted from our website. Your content will continue to be available for license on Shutterstock.com.

The clips selected to be a part of this new platform test have either never or rarely sold, are not new to the footage site and exclude any high resolution 4K clips. The footage royalty payout rate remains at 30% of the sale price that Shutterstock receives for your footage.

While our site functionality does not support the ability to opt-out of this limited license program, we believe this is an opportunity to bring you incremental new earnings. Please visit https://submit.shutterstock.com/contact if you require additional support.

By entering into this limited license program, Shutterstock is able to fulfill customer demand for both high-end and low-end productions. We value your feedback and continue to work on improving our site experience for buyers and contributors alike. Thank you for your partnership.

SS and Pond5 BME, Adobe and Storyblocks normal.
Just Storyblocks had half of the normal revenue...

I don't know if it was caused by this thread or was it just a false alarm.

But I asked them for the prices they would suggest.
They answered HD $79 and 4k $199.
So looks like they wanted me to decrease HD and rise 4k prices.

So maybe a false alarm(no videoblocks pricing), but they shouldent ask people to change their pricing anyway.

"Help us keep Pond5 the Artist (and Buyer) Friendly Marketplace!

Dear Artist,

Youre receiving this email because there may be clips in your Pond5 portfolio that are priced lower on competitor sites. You (and we) risk losing sales if the same content can be found for less elsewhere other sites where you earn fewer royalties.

Pond5 is rapidly becoming the go-to global destination for footage buyers, which means Artists like you have more opportunities than ever to thrive. Weve accomplished this through the depth and breadth of our collection, our best-in-class search experience, and competitive pricing.

Wed like to ask for your help to continue making this happen. If you have content on Pond5 that is priced lower on competitor sites, please adjust your pricing to be no higher than the competitor price. Giving Artists the ability to set their own prices is one of our most important founding principles, but we also have to protect the integrity of our marketplace. (Of course, we always welcome higher-priced exclusive content.)

Our team can provide assistance with bulk price changes and other concerns. For help, just contact us at [email protected]. Thank you for making Pond5 the number one global content marketplace!

Sincerely,
The Pond5 Team"

Are they panicing after Videoblocks crazy annoucement!?
My prices are just slightly above Shutterstocks prices.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Earnings in November
« on: December 03, 2017, 18:27 »
BME by far!!

Looks like November and December are the best months on a year for me.

Its the fourth day of December and I already made 1/4 of November earnings!!

high on hopes that i could cut my day job and make a living on footage in 2018. Looks really possible at this time :)

Does it finally read footage metadata? (Like all other sites do)

23
Yeah
really frustrating!

Last year i got like 3- 5 sales a month and this year i sold 1 clip + 1 refund.

And at the same time.
Adobe, Shutterstock and Pond5 increasing almost every month.

Feels like my port is invisible.
Could it be that i'm penalized in some way?
Earlier this year i had problems with my connection.
That caused 4000 few second clips.
They all show now on the rejected count....
