Image Sleuth / Re: Thieves or sluts?
« on: August 19, 2020, 14:59 »
Thank you for the advice, Firn.

I had a hunch that Shutterstock was behind it.

And since I was not satisfied with the business conduct of this company, I removed all my pictures from there except for a small remainder.

So I guess I have to wait for the waiting period of 90 days since the deletion and then increase the pressure.

Nevertheless the watermarkless display is a nuisance and possibly a breach of contract.

The missing copyright notice would then be a criminal offence and the change of name, the attempt of concealment.

Many thanks for the reply.

But where did they get my image with a relatively high resolution without watermark?
Why is the author or source of a license not mentioned?

It all smells like fraud ... doesn't it? :-\

Just found some of my work on this site (https://oboitd.ru/catalog). Unfortunately without a source or copyright notice, but with false names.
Is it a known thief or was only the source information lost?
Any Russian experts in the forum?

I just want to take over the world.
And, man, I'm telling you, girl, it's really time-consuming. Speaking of time-consuming, did you know that influencing opinions is the goal of PR agencies, but the use of false identities and accounts is already a crime in some countries?

The captcha used to be so much worse.
The Shutterstock Captcha Challenge

I miss checking my stats every day.
But i Love routines. But why not check your stats every day, even you have no files there: What a surprise when something changes ...

Best post I've read on the matter. Thanks for that.
Thank You.
I already wanted to join the Stock Coalition, but Facebook and Twitter are red rags for me.
I'd rather have one hand rot off than join these time-consuming parallel worlds.
Still a tip: People who still upload stuff to Shutterstock are scab!
And they should be treated that way.

Where's the traffic light? Where is it? This is an important question! Not whether "the 85 percent sales deduction" is shameless or even immoral!

By the way, did anyone see the hydrant? In the German translation you should always find a "fire hydrant", but it is a water hydrant.
Or are there fire hydrants in the USA? Many things are different in the States.
I think about this when I delete my files at Shutterstock. Not all at once.
A certain percentage every week. The patch must be pulled off slowly.

You're beginning to read that a lot of contributors "disable" their files. That's not for me.
Even though there are laws that are supposed to regulate economic life, the long-term successful economist acts according to principles. My principle: be consistent.
In contrast to many others, I already submitted unnerved my mental farewell before the financial reorganization. Even the search for the chimney could not make up for the non-functioning tax button. That was one mistake too many.

I accepted the picture spamming, keyword spamming, wrong keywords, picture thieves etc., although these nastiness had a very negative effect on my turnover.
But the fact that these spammers and thieves are also preferred made me angry. Well, but once I was looking for the motorcycle and the annoyance was almost gone. Until the tax button came.

Even if a new CEO would take back the changes 25, 33, 36 or 38 percent for me and the bigger part for a company that doesn't even put as much effort and conscientiousness into its work performance as I do?

No, no... The patch must be pulled off slowly.

Meanwhile, once again look for the crosswalk ...

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock reviewers are idiots
« on: November 07, 2019, 16:51 »
dear friends,

I, too, became a victim of unjustified refusals.

"similar content" was the reason.
If, at all, then only in the broadest sense!

Whether the "reviewer" are idiots or just AIs I don't give a crap.

The fact that the spam factories still continue to produce is annoying, and that is supposed to have been decisive for the change of behaviour.

And this unequal treatment leads to a distortion of competition.
Calculus or inability?

Oh, before I get angry any more, a little monotony to calm things down:

Hello Mat,
I just uploaded 21 illustrations. By chance, I saw in the review mask that a file contains totally wrong keywords.
Instead of the implemented IPTC data, there was data that must belong to another image from another contributor (siehe jpg).

The other 20 pictures were perfectly okay.
I do not use a keyword tool. I upload my files with completed IPTC data.

Please clarify!

Thanks in advance.

To be more specific, the striking thing is that images that have been in portfolio for a year now sell much more frequently for the first time than images that are not in the portfolio for so long. And since the novelty is a clear bonus in the Shutterstock search, that's surprising.

Yeah, I 've had similar experiences: new one sell few, but one year in the stock it accelerated.

Canstock: Ridiculous rejection reasons + very few sales + stupid answers
Dreamstime: unacceptable deleting conditions + ridiculous rejection reasons + very few sales
Bigstock ( in progress): annoying deleting conditions + very few sales
123rf ( in progress): nothing is right or works properly + few sales

XnView is a free and good Programm to edit pictures and the IPTC data.

Many spam-entries are gone. But not all. Looking at the first page of best match for "pattern" ... :(

etc ....

Where is all the fun gone ....

I really want a explanation from the company why several month nothing happens and the contributors were ignored.
To be honest I rather think its a waste of your energy if they did give an explanation you may well not believe it.  I may be too fatalist but I think to survive in this environment its best to focus on what you can control.

I believe that to focus on things you can control is always a good action maxim, no matter what environment. (Under the premise you know what you can control and whether it is purposeful.)
And I assume that you wanted to tell me that you do not expect a statement and if only an unsatisfactory. My expectation is the same.

But: I really want a explanation from the company why several month nothing happens and the contributors were ignored.

You won't get one........

most likely

but: I really want a explanation from the company why several month nothing happens and the contributors were ignored.

I'm very far to be an IT expert but I see a simple and quickly solution for this problem: make impossible change caption after review. On Fotolia that is

It seems that these spammy titles not build after review. they pass the review .... :(

A medium or long-term oriented company must have an intention to change something. Then this distortion of competition among the contibutors prefers the dishonest to the honest suppliers. And no company can want that, unless it is only short-term oriented. (but is this here the case, it could mean in the worst case the management wants to plunder the cash registers soon and get rid of the dust. )

On the other side so many contibutors with big ports are cheating, that there is an danger of losing 5 - 10 percent of whole content, by suspending the ports.

If you want to see how far the "Title-Spamming" goes, should enter "pattern" in the search. And then go to "best match".

And I wonder that I do not sell anything anymore!  :(
