StockXpert.com / Re: StockXpert Growth
« on: April 21, 2008, 14:47 »
StockXpert is doing really well for me this month, but not consistent.  Some days there's sales, other days are dry.  They're either in my #2 or #3 spot for the month.

Computer Hardware / Re: How to speed up Photosohop
« on: April 18, 2008, 15:15 »
I built a computer specifically for that - kept freezing at first because stupid BIOS was set to look for SLI and all my memory slots are filled with RAM.

Duocore 2.33 GHz 1333 MHz FSB
4GB of RAM DDR2 800
Was using Vista, now back to XP for reliability
Photoshop CS3
Bridge CS3
XFXforce 680i SLI LT motherboard
GeForce 8500GT
DVI for the monitor
3 hdd's - 160 for programs and the operating system, 300 and 400 GB for the storage of files.  Works like a dream now that I ironed out the bugs.

Very good machine. A hardcore one :)

Its great. No problems anymore.  Only cost 1000 dollars cdn

Throw in a 36GB Raptor drive and use that for your PS scratch drive.  It'll pick up quite a bit since PS doesn't have to wrestle with Windows near as much for access to paging.

Crestock.com / Re: Confusing Rejections
« on: April 18, 2008, 15:09 »
I've had some surprising rejections at Crestock.  And some surprising accepts.  While rejections are no fun (and I'm awaiting what happens to a batch that I uploaded the other night), I've learned to pick and choose which battles to fight.  If I feel strongly about an image, I'll question it.  If not, I'll usually just let it go, chuckle to myself (because more-than-likely the image has been accepted elsewhere), and not worry about it anymore.

As for Judge Ross, I've thought about getting a tee shirt with the grumpy photo on the front and a big "I <heart> Judge Ross" on the back.   :o  I may not always agree with what he says, or the images that he selects, but it's oh-so-fun reading the :D "Worst" section.  I don't get as many sales as I'd like there...it's either their upload procedure or that scowl that keeps me returning.  :)

Adobe Stock / Re: FTP troubles with Fotolia?
« on: April 18, 2008, 14:50 »
I was having ftp problems the other night, too.  I don't think it was me...filezilla was working just fine with other agencies.  I used the flash uploader, and everything went fine.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Most anal reviewers?
« on: April 18, 2008, 14:28 »
IS by far rejects the most stuff.  I'd have to check my "Rejected" folders to know for sure, though.  Not sure who's in second place--probably FT.  For some reason StockXpert seems to like what I've been uploading, but we'll see when they get to what I uploaded the other night...  They're currently my best selling site this month, even surpassing SS.

Bigstock.com / Re: Uploading disabled till monday
« on: April 18, 2008, 14:19 »
They were open last weekend, so I guess they've got to play catch-up.  Maybe with the closing of LO more buyers will trickle over to BigStock, which could put them in a position to hire some more reviewers.  One can hope, anyway.

The images gotta be online first...  And it looks like the first batch finally made it.  Mostly, anyway--  8)

I've had stuff in queue for a while there, and sometimes stuff gets done in a few days.  I'm happy with them...they're in my #3 spot for this month so far.

BTW, for the OP, I got in on my second attempt.

SnapVillage.com / Current review time
« on: April 16, 2008, 18:02 »
Yeah, another thread asking about review time...    ::)

I recently opened my account there, and I've got some images that have been pending for just about two weeks.  Just wondering if this is normal, or of something's gotten clogged and needs a visit from Mr. Plunger.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Best User Interface (workflow)

Too bad I couldn't vote for two...  Both CS and 123 have excellent submission methods...I'm glad they make it easy.
