Wow! In 2006 I didn't have a camera.  :D
It is really interesting to have a look at the past :)

Is there a microstock agencies union or such?   ???
This is not a bad idea :)

On my third attempt - after 0/10 and 4/10 I'm in with 8/10  :)
It looks like, if you haven't managed to get in this time, your next try was going to be 12/10   ;D
Now seriously. Congratulations on your success! I think you will find that SS is worth it. Try to upload at least 10% (based on our portfolio) a week.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Customer refund?
« on: October 05, 2008, 11:21 »
And one more thing. How can we (the photographs) be sure that the buyer will not use the photo for which he claims refund?

Isn't it obvious? You can't. He doesn't have the right to use the photo, but nothing impedes him, as much as nothing impedes a buyer from using the image outside the license terms. He may not do it, but he can do it.

Regards,
Adelaide
Yeah! I know the answer, that is why I am asking the question. :)

Hi,
maybe I can help, because I had the same problem when I was trying to get in.

This is a glitch in the system. Whenever the time to your next try falls down to less then 1 day, it shows 30 days. It is not a problem, you just have to wait for a couple more hours. You will receive an email today, when it is ok to upload your next 10 images.

Regards,
Zdravko

@Don McGillis - Man you are like telling my own story. I have the same issues and plans :)
I really hope to get my first payout from IS till the end of the year, but my port is not so sellable and big as I wish.  :-[

You don't need to promote your portfolio! It's all a waste of time.
Better spend your time on producing stuff that sells, and it will cream to the top all by itself!  8)
TNX Gregor909!
I think little promotion would not be useless, but you are absolutely right that, if you pics are great they will be selling like crazy. :)

I have no problem opening cutcaster.com all day long.

20$ is the starting price, if you choose cutcaster algorithm. All my photos were 20$ the first day they were uploaded. It will change in time.

Hi guys,
I am in the microstock industry for 3 months now.  :P I am getting some downloads with not so big portfolio (average about 50 photos), but I am trying to increase it around 200 pics until the end of the year.
I was wondering how do you promote your portfolios? I mean iStock has lightboxes, 123RF has Fave images, Dreamstime offers blogs. What else are you using to promote your ports to a wider group of potential buyers?

Any info will be highly appreciated.

You rule, Whitechild!
I am a stock photographer for 3 months now and I am uploading to Top 6 + Cutcaster, because:
1) I really like John's attitude
2) I think there must be some kind of change in the microstock market and Cutcaster is a fresh perspective
3) There customer service is great

Adobe Stock / Re: EU FOTOLIA
« on: September 15, 2008, 08:45 »
Maybe I am wrong, but anyway  ::)

I am a FT member since the end of June. When I was registering myself I could choose the currency of my payments. I chose USD, because all other agencies were paying in USD.

Before FT introduced eu.fotolia, I was redirected to us.fotolia and since the change now I am automatically redirected to eu.fotolia. I think the site is automatically redirecting the user on some basis. Not really sure about the criteria.  ???
