Adobe Stock / Re: Vector uploads are back online
« on: September 14, 2018, 09:58 »
Thanks for the update Mat. Has anything changed for contributors, or was it behind the scenes stuff?

No changes that impact contributors that I am aware of at this time.

thanks,

Mat

Fairly sure the answer is "no" but....

I activated my LR/PS free code about 3 weeks ago before realising i'd also qualified for the full CC package.

Is there any way to transfer this 3 week old code to another adobe CC account (a relatives)?

I'm pretty sure that once redeemed, you cannot transfer a CC code. Contact customer service through Adobe.com however as they will have a more definitive answer for you.

Yes, there are still codes available.

I have some suggestions for better contributor (user) experiences on Adobe Contributor portal. Can I post it here or somewhere else?

Thanks

Sure thing, would love to read your ideas. Posting here is fine.

I'm at 494 as of august 24th. Surely that's more than $500?

At first Adobe Stock support told me I didn't meet the criteria, that I was at $494. I replied that it was 494. Then they told me to wait for the next batch of codes.

Now I'm not convinced that the automated system takes into account the difference between and $.

If you don't have 300 files approved this year then you will need to earn 500 before you qualify. Sorry for any confusion.

-Mat
In an earlier post you wrote that 1 Fotolia credit = $1 for the promotion. So it is 500 credits, and not 500?

BTW, I just passed the 300 approved files mark today.

Yes, my mistake. I apologize for the confusion on currency and earnings requirements. Congrats on the 300 approved file milestone.

Adobe Stock / Question about your metadata workflow
« on: September 07, 2018, 10:44 »
I understand different agencies require different information when indexing. In addition to the yes/no poll above would you please elaborate on your workflow? For those of you that do embed metadata with both a title and description, when submitting to Adobe Stock do you copy/paste your description in the title field as an additional step or do you simply submit with the title you had listed originally?

Thank you!

It's more than two weeks now. I'd like to know whether Adobe plans to keep licensing vectors. I can't believe "maintenance" requires suspending uploading for such a long period. This is really unacceptable from the #2 stock site.

Yes, we definitely intend to continue licensing vectors. We appreciate your patience and I will be sure to update you as soon as I can.

Thanks,

Adobe Stock / Re: Auto-Title Feature Added to Adobe Stock
« on: September 07, 2018, 09:37 »
I'd rather see Adobe/Fotolia use the description from my image metadata rather than the image title.

Its a pain in the ass having to copy and paste descriptions to each and every image upload.

[/quote]

Moments ago I posted some incorrect information about the impact of the title in Adobe Stock search. I have recently learned that there is some weight in Adobe Stock search based on the title. It's important to note the the title should only depict the core subject of the image using words that a customer would consider when trying to find it.

I'm curious how many contributors add a description in addition to a title in their metadata. I will start a new thread with a poll.

Adobe Stock / Re: Auto-Title Feature Added to Adobe Stock
« on: September 06, 2018, 14:09 »
Matt

It is intriguing when stock agencies deploy time and money to develop features that will only be used by exclusives on their site. Doesn't everyone who is not exclusive get their files ready for upload in some system or other and then upload/submit to all at once? Could this be used by someone who submits to many sites?

As a matter of interest, are there are large percentage of exclusive artists on Adobe/Fotolia?

Steve

That's a fair point Steve. If you are embedding your metadata before uploading, this particular feature won't do much for you. However, it will be a tremendous help for new contributors learning the  wacky and oh-so-fun world of stock indexing and as you mentioned for those that upload to Adobe Stock exclusively.

In my personal workflow, the auto-category feature is the biggest time saver for me. Regardless of exclusivity you need to select a category. I can simply upload, attach releases and submit everything at once. Yes, of course I'm biased but not when I'm uploading and submitting. I want the flow to be as easy as the rest of you want it and the system as it stands is pretty dang seamless in my opinion. In addition, while I don't use the auto-keywords to index my files,  I do like to check out the recommendations while researching and embedding keywords offline. . I may do the same with the auto-title now that it's available to use.

Another way I can see the auto-title feature helping veteran contributors. Recently, I uploaded a batch of approximately 150 images I had done all my indexing in Bridge but as many of you know, this can be a long, tedious process. For whatever reason, I missed the title on around 6 or 7 of the photos. While yes, it's a minor nuisance in the grand scheme of things to improvise and add the title manually in the portal, it is a nuisance nonetheless that disrupts my flow. Now, when it happens again (I guarantee it will) it will be as simple as clicking the title bar and selecting my favorite of the options.

In other words, it doesn't hurt to have it available when you need it. There are plenty of other great features for you in the works. Stay tuned!

Adobe Stock / Auto-Title Feature Added to Adobe Stock
« on: September 06, 2018, 12:24 »
Hi Everyone,

Earlier today we released a time-saving feature to the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal. Adobe Sensei now detects what is in your image and recommends up to 3 titles for you to use automatically. What that means is that you can now upload a file to Adobe Stock with no metadata embedded and the system will have up to 3 titles for you to choose from. This is a bit different from the auto-keywords as the title won't automatically populate the title box. It is instead, a drop down option should you want the Sensei recommendation. With auto-categories, auto-keywords and now auto-titles you can theoretically upload content and submit it to Adobe Stock while spending virtually no time indexing.

Give it a try for yourself when you have a moment. I have been pretty impressed with the results I've seen so far.

Jo Ann, Could I ask you if you've now received your code?  I am in the same position - have now had uploads approved but so far no code has been sent.

Thanks,
Pablito

Not yet, but Mat had said that he wasn't sure when the next batch of codes would go out - I'll post here when I receive mine
I've just contacted Adobe - they said wait another 3 or 4 weeks.

The most recent set of codes were sent out this past Saturday by CompEXT. I don't have the list of qualified contributors in my possession at this time for confirmations but I should soon.

Thank you,

Mat

Adobe Stock / Re: How many Fotolia credits = $500?
« on: September 04, 2018, 13:13 »
Hi Mat,
I live in Poland and my earnings on Fotolia site are shown only in Credits, and my earnings on Adobe site are shown only in Polish PLN. I couldnt find a way to view from Poland my earnings in US dollars. So my question is: How many Fotolia credits equals $500?. I have earned 470 credits this year so far, so if 1 Fotolia credit = 1 USD, I hope to qualify soon. But please confirm.

Regards
Chris

1 Fotolia credit = $1 for the promotion. You are almost there.

Does anybody know when it will be up again???

Thanks

We don't have that information available at this time. As soon as we can resume normal uploads I will be sure to update my post here in MSG and we will update the announcement seen at the top of the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Thank you for your patience,

Hi all,

Sorry for the delayed response, I had to take Friday off. Judging from the intensity of the conversation it looks like I'll never be able to do that again!  :o

I will do my best to answer the questions listed here. If I missed something, let me know.

The first wave of codes were sent out on Thursday August 16. Anyone that met the required qualifications before August 3 received their code(s) then. A number of people have contacted me and said they didn't get the code. Most of those people did actually receive it, they just missed it because the sender was listed as "CompEXT" and was perceived to be spam. In some cases, it was actually sent to the spam folder so be sure to check there if you haven't gotten it.

The email address the code was sent to is the email associated with your Fotolia account. Some contributors learned they hadn't updated their email address in Fotolia after making a change and didn't think to check their old email. If you don't have a Fotolia account then the code would have been sent to the Adobe ID you set your account up with.

If you have met the qualifying requirements after August 3 then you will receive a code very soon. Likely this week though I don't know the exact date.

The requirements are to have had at least 300 images, vectors or videos approved in 2018 with a 50% approval rate or greater....OR (emphasis on the word "OR") to have earned at least $500 in commissions in 2018. The disclaimer to the latter qualifier is that you need to have had at least one asset approved in 2018. This is noted in the terms and conditions: https://stock.adobelanding.com/contributor-giveaway-terms/

To clarify...you do not need to upload 300 images, vectors or videos and also earn $500. It's one or the other to qualify and receive the code.

If you are confident you qualified before August 3 and you have checked your email archives for CompEXT and you have checked your spam folder and still don't see a code, please submit a ticket to Adobe Stock Contributor Support. You can do this by clicking the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the contributor portal. Someone (likely me) will get back to you as quickly as possible. Please note, I cannot provide support through private messages in MSG and definitely not through Facebook messaging. I will no longer respond to requests sent to my personal Facebook page for this information (though feel free to follow me on Instagram @mathaywardphoto ...yes...I know...shameless personal plug :) )

There are still plenty of codes available to qualify for. If you haven't already met the criteria there is still time for both CC and CCP so get busy!  I promise I will let you know in this thread if we reach the cap.

Re @Uncle Pete: I'm reasonably certain that as long as you still have the disk or the software on your computer for the non-cloud version of PS it won't become invalidated from downloading the Creative Cloud version onto your machine. I have a request for a definitive confirmation of this and will let you know when I receive it.

Thanks everyone. I hope you are enjoying your software and look forward to seeing what you create with it!

I've checked and searched and nothing from CompEXT.

I didn't see anything about opening a case, but used the Contact Us from the contributor part of Adobe Stock, which I hope will get to the correct people

Exactly the same for me, thanks Matt for your help :)

This is weird. I searched my email and nothing there. However, when I was filling in my email search box, I started typint "CompEXT" and the field automatically got filled in with "[email protected]" indicating that there must have been an email from that address at some point. Nothing came back in my search...must have been deleted :(. Guess I will open a ticket as recommended

Okay, I just went on Adobestock site. I saw no way of opening a case, so I went into chat. The person at the other end wasn't even close to understanding the issue. I gave up and asked the representative if there was a way to put in a written request. The rep. said no, there is only chat and calling up an 800 number.

We don't have chat. You were at Adobe.com it sounds like. Go the the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal and click the link at the bottom of the page that says "contact us."

Is there anyone else who is qualified who hasn't received a code?

I'm in that situation, but wondered if the codes didn't all go out at once for whatever reason and they're not yet done.

A suggestion would be that in the contributor section on Adobe Stock, they could note that you were qualified/not; coupon issued (and perhaps put the number there as well as in email) or not. It'd save wear and tear on support staff :)

I've heard from a number of contributors who did receive the code in email but overlooked it when it arrived. The name of the sender is CompEXT. Double check your inbox and if it's not there, check your spam folder. If not there either and you are sure you are qualified please open a case via the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Thanks,

Mat

Yes, that's what I meant about opening a case. I'll look into this for you today and will let you know what I find.

Adobe Stock / Vector Uploads Temporarily Disabled
« on: August 22, 2018, 17:04 »

Adobe Stock / Re: Lowest commission on Adobe now 25 cents?
« on: August 21, 2018, 18:32 »
For months and months now the lowest commission I have gotten from Adobe is 29 cents. Today I got a 25 cent commission. Race to the bottom? Discounting and making the contributor pay for it? Has anyone else had this? 😞

The minimum payment of .29 you referenced is based on subscriptions and is determined on your rank.

The commission you noted was a Fotolia based credit sale which is paid a percentage based on your rank and the number of credits the customer used to purchase the file. The customer purchased an XS file for 1 credit. Your rank is silver so your commission % on credits sales is 25%. This has not changed in many years.

Any updates on whether there are still packages available? I'm sure people would be more motivated to upload if they actually knew that they had a chance of getting something rather than all of them having been effectively given away before the promotion even started.

Yes, you can still qualify.
