iStockPhoto.com / best match Shift towards older files?
« on: February 22, 2011, 13:33 »
It seems like its that time of the year where they jiggled the best match to show more older files. Ive been getting some dls on older files recently. Am i the only one noticing this? I would like to hear from others if they experienced this lately. Maybe this explains the newer files not getting views... besides all the f5 disaster.

iStockPhoto.com / anyone get any dl since site maintenance today?
« on: November 08, 2010, 17:04 »
I havent. Probably jumping the gun here but lately i just dont trust istock. I would like to hear that buyers were still buying and it is being recorded and contributors are getting paid for it while this so called update with hardware is in progress. they have to increase their profits by 50% at any costs  ;)

iStockPhoto.com / Should the microstock industry be regulated?
« on: September 24, 2010, 22:04 »
I think the lack of transparency with the agency's doing whatever they want with no repercussions is terrible. How do we know that our agencies are not ripping us off blind.

Clear example of something fishy with the istocks payout. I do vectors and sell them as a series.. lets say music. Today i get 3 downloads apprarently from the same buyer because they were downloaded at the same time. These are 14 credit files and i get three different commission rates and they are not subscription. If its one account buying, wouldnt this be impossible unless something unethical is going on here? Im confused.

How does an industry start getting regulated? do we write and bitch to our senators to pass a bill??

iStockPhoto.com / tuesdays used to be the best
« on: May 26, 2010, 01:39 »
For the last 4 to 6 months since the last best match shuffle, tuesdays was my best selling days with downloads 15-30% more than the other days. Prior to that, weds was consistently my bestsellers with the same amount of download ratio. With the new best match/exclusive+ shuffle and the summer slowdown and seeing the * thinkstock banners all over the place, tuesdays are starting to suck too now =(... Just needed to vent since i know a thread like this on istock will be locked.

Very general question, but if you were consistently pulling in over $150 to $250 a day (weekday) from microstock and revenues actually were going up from month to month as u put more time in it, would you do this fulltime? Im just curious on the ones that jumped on the fulltime boat if this was roughly the amount of income they started with...

Google leaves china after hacks. Got me thinking on how vulnerable our money is on these sites? I have no clue and is curious to hear from people from the it backgrounds on this issue
What kind of systems are in place at the top microstock sites? Is it comparable to Banking systems? It should be top of the line imo since millions are going in and out...
How hard would it be for a potential hacker to write some code and penetrate these systems to extract pennies per transaction with various contributors, reminds of of that movie office space.
I think istock has been buggy for awhile now...

iStockPhoto.com / istock has roughly 85k contributors
« on: March 12, 2010, 03:43 »
at least thats what i got from an email from ce.
"Please realize that we have approximately 85,000 contributors currently, many of which use our CE email as a resource for their concerns."

Thats a lot more than what the istockcharts is showing in their figures...
