heywoody, Performance of your 36 images on istock is impressive. 200 downloads. That's a good number (I may not know what is real good).
My portfolio numbers are: Dreamstime 6 Depositephotos 44 Fotolia 7 123rf 18 bigstock 6 Canstock 0
Regardless to say, I am yet to see any sale. So, I may be partially blind to what is good and how it performs. I have to rely on the advice of members here.
My main focus right now is to build portfolio with atleast 100+ images to go. I am uploading 20+ images per week. Dreamstime allows me 23 per week. So, my target is to fill sites to review with 23 images. It takes close to one week to get the accepted content to go fully online.
I am still undecided to go on istock. I dont know whether I am missing the bus or just by luck avoiding the journey to neverland.

I am thinking of joining istock. I am reading the threads in various forums including MSG and at istock as well. Some people at istock say, it is perfectly fine while the members here are offering different views. So, that creates a situation which keeps new members away from istock.
What is the advice of seniors here. Should I wait further or I should join istock now?

*Seems* , Something positive has happened in last few days at BS. My images were reviewed promptly, with in few hours. The last two batches of 15 each ( 15 is the limit for one batch) were processed.
I do not question the judgement of reviewers to reject or accept the images. That is their right. For review times and 15 images per batch should see better light.
Right now, reviews are fine and seem to be moving faster than in the past.

I am just 2 months in MS and have been around many leading sites. Though, I am yet to be accepted at SS and Canstock. DT, DP, BS, FT, 123RF and one of low earners. Number of images in these portfolio do vary.
So, here CS is trying to show off that it is actually SS. Every agency has their own way of working. What is worrying part, the attitude of low-key sites which show off like they are on the peak.
I have experienced, the most annoying thing is review time at various sites. Rejection and acceptance are their right. But review times are pathetic at various sites. And if you look at MSG forums, the keyword 'review times' finds the biggest numbers in thread counts.
I vote for review times.

Recent times have not been better. Anyone experiencing the same phenomena at this time of year. istock exclusives are coming home. That may be a reason why reviews are late.
I seriously think, there are low-earners microstock sites which delay the review period just to sound like exclusive and premium among the others. Bad examples are easy to copy and some microstock sites are competing very hard and wish to be seen as fore-runners in the pursuit.

My initial 15 images were reviewed some hours before. Thanks for doing that.
Looks like we are back to snail-paced era. Bigstock does not wish to accept to review more than 15 images. It will take 10 days to get the 15 images reviewed. There are lot many things I have waited in my life including the love, lets add bigstock to the queue.
It makes me wonder whether Bigstock is worth of its salt aka wait 10 days. Am I reading it correctly or the review times improve or better the big stock at-least puts the images in approval queue.
My worry and it includes several people like me, who may lose interest in bigstock and forget to comeback. It is not, I would not wish to comeback, The problem is I would forget about it.
I standby my statement, BS can learn many things from DT.

Images submitted on 25th Jan still languishing in pending list. If they are running short of resources, this forum has many senior members who can extend the help. There is something to learn from DT which displays its review time next to all images in queue.
Boris, I and other appreciate your presence here in this forum. May be you can share the story at other side of the fence.

The other day I had written to 123rf asking them few questions. An important question was out of my ignorance( I could pretend because I am new to them). I asked them why I am not getting any emails when photos are being rejected/accepted or sold. I got reply that it is intentional. The emails are not sent to anyone.
Well, 123rf may be working on something important. The things which I liked with them is, they respond very fast to your emails and questions. My 123rf portfolio is growing very fast. The maintenance mode is good sign, that someone is busy taking care of the things even when world is thinking otherwise. Keep it up. It must go well for all. Win-win situation is all the way accepted. Most important, stay away from the deals which breaks the trust.

Many microstock sites are changing many things these days. I noticed changes in DT and now 123rf. Some more changes are awaited. The world is changing very fast. Microstock market is behaving like Google Panda update after-effects on content farming. The interesting part is, some of the operators are same in this game as well.

I got all my 10 photos rejected for various reasons. Those 10 photos are already up on various agencies but, it did not work with SS. I accept it gracefully. I will work hard to improve to their standards.
My next turn comes after one month. Lets wait.

Dear all,
Can you please also share the portfolio size on each of those sites. It is certainly encouraging for people like me who have just started in microstock markets.
Your % is good way of presenting, how much you get from each site. The percent figures are misleading but it is good to know the numbers.
Regards

I had sent them an email. I got reply, they are running with unusual high load these days. They are saying, it may take 7 to 10 days to get new images reviewed.
Appreciate their prompt response.

Best of luck to you. Your site look great. Just get rid of black colors around. I am glad to see your passion for doing something good. Keep your interest and efforts focused. There are many people waiting to join your venture. Just show them that you care which I think you did already. So, it is just waiting to roll now.

I am also trying to find out the value/proposition of getting there. I had been on many other low-earners and my experience is not very encouraging. I would certainly like to understand whether GL is a place of interest.

I experienced it recently. I submitted batch of 38, 16 and 11 images to DT, DP, 123rf, FT. Except FT, all other sites are running very slow in terms of review times. Some of the uploads date back to 18th Jan, The files are pending and status does not change. or sites are picking up fewer files to review and while others are just pending.
Whole this market of Microstocks removed fear from my mind. Now I know two or three things which keep me cool. First, upload and forget. Second, Never mind rejections, some sites are picky and choosy while others are liberal. Third, do your job nicely and improve.
The last, just go on uploading.

A promise is promise and of course it must not be twisted. That's not too much hoping.
I quite agree on that, the promised advertised time is not the projection of wait time. I am active on other agencies. I think during weekends, the extended times may be experienced more over. My application may be in the queue and having fewer reviewers over weekends.

Current Advert says : Current Review Time : Under 6 hours. " The same advert encourages to upload.
Actually the advert is correct. I read in this thread. It is not projection of wait time.
So what it is :
It is review time. The reviewer must pickup the image to review and after that he may take 6 hours to do his job. The catch is here : reviewer has no time limit to pickup the photo. His watch begins to tick after he accepts the image to review. Do not confuse here.
So, your wait time is longer in experience and actually. You wonder what happened to promised review times. That's an advertisement. Reality is always different.
I have submitted my application to them (CS) and I don't think it is going to be clear verdict before 10-15 days, If I believe the sentiments going here in this thread.
As I said in other threads as well, It needs to be easier for everyone.

Boris, BS needs to make it easy for photographers to get approved. I recently joined and hit the wall with 15 images limits. Going by the threads in BS section here, I don't think it is not going to be earlier than 10 days to see those images in the catalog.
I sincerely hope, this wait is worth of its time and efforts. I am with all leading agencies and have been going well.
I believe, it needs to be easier for everyone.

I am well accepted and working well with DT, DP, FT, 123rf, CS, BS and got things in order there. I had thought of SS to be my last choice because of its premium nature. Today I took a plunge and have submitted 10 best images. I have sent them links to my other profiles on various microstock sites. I think that would work.
I am hopeful that it would be approved. It is like applying for B1 visa which makes you anxious to get it. It is because other agencies are not that much successful. Shutterstock is choosy and pricey because it can afford to be so. For photographers, it is dream to be on SS.

I have been with MP for over 1 year now. The figures are not very much encouraging. I am thinking of quitting MP. The biggest issue is, you can upload what ever you wish. Nobody bothers whether there is any quality in those images. This is like crowd sourcing the images. Too low sale. I still stand on zero. I took jump out of pond and got with the premium agencies now. I am quite happy there.

Is there any valid reason for deleting this account. Though my experience with DT is bit not-so-good. I got maximum rejections and believe me I was thinking to quit Microstock market for ever, but before doing that, I tried FT, DP, 123rf. My luck worked there. DT still does not like most of my images. But I am not complaining. It takes time for an agency to accept newbie.

I mailed them 2 days before and I got reply, there is some technical problem which is causing this issue. They are trying to sort it out.
It happened with me also, my images were approved and are in my profile(after I login) but my public portfolio is still blank and images are not indexed yet.
Let's see how long it takes for DP to resolve this issue.
