General Stock Discussion / Re: Starting a New Stock Marketplace
« on: December 15, 2013, 06:21 »
Is it not so, that DP started with a lot of money? They had at the beginning a program where you got money only for uploading images , if I remember correctly.

This streaming model of YAY is an outrage, a slap in the face for all contributors! Shame on you, YAY!

428
I'll drop Stockphotomedia as soon as possible.

429
I also want to submit more  agencies but the typing is too boring and waste time. Is there any software can realize that?
Looking forward to your suggestion!

General Stock Discussion / Re: Your first year - How was it?
« on: November 25, 2013, 07:45 »
My first year in microstock was extremely good - everything first went up. The setbacks came after ;)

Got my payment as usual. You should ask them, errors and mistakes may happen from time to time. I'm  sure, you will get your money soon.

Curiously even the youtube sites ar down. A major hacker attack?  :(

433
Actually it's  a TIFF generated from a jpg-file, so what!?

434
Ich hab das ebenfalls berhaupt nicht beachtet. Habe in den letzten Jahren dadurch keine Nachteile erfahren. rde-orm

So simple, so true!

I wonder what contributors expect from the Mexpo. ::)

A good party ;-)

Ok, this one is a good reason :-)

In the Scandinavian languages, the name Stockbo sounds like the name of a small village somewhere in the deep woods  8)

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia learning curve
« on: November 04, 2013, 12:36 »
Last but not least: you can even write keywords in multiple files directly in Fotolia. Go to "Manage your files" and then to "Indexing" far right on the menu bar. But it is not comfortable, it's better you attach keywords and title before upload - as stockphotoeurope already wrote.

Most things work again - but my sales are still cut to zero ???

Newbie Discussion / Re: Size of Licensing Market
« on: October 20, 2013, 01:52 »
It argues that the licensing market could be as large as 20 billion dollars if a company just accepted most photographers that tried to sell.

There are some agencies that accept everyone and everything. A good example is MostPhotos. But however, this is not a model for success, how you quickly will notice when you offer your pictures there.

Hopefully those who are using it are paying for it now and then via make a contribution.
I think, it's worth paying for it. Would be nice, if the tool would work like 2 or 3 years ago.

Even the BigStock button no longer works now. Wonder if if a new version of PicNiche will be available sometime , beacause I love the tool!

Ok thanks. It was very useful! But, CAN YOU TELL ME NOW WICH ONES ARE THE WORST SALES? ;)

No problem:
Close ups of butterflys
Wilted flowers
Ordinary people who do normal things without smiling.
Beautiful models with closed eyes.
And there is much more ...
:-)

...the poll results look also negative...
Maybe I'm wrong, but at least 123RF seems to be not worse than a year ago.

« on: September 24, 2013, 05:19 »
By the way: who has actually ever achieved significant revenue with YAY! I never did. So I'm gone. The chance to ever get paid the time and effort in the future is suspectet zero.

Yaymicro / Re: YAY Newsletter: Information About New Product

Yay is aggressively undercutting the market prices with this new streaming service. Yay can spin it anyway they want, but if this is a success, Yay is much more likely to convert paying customers into less paying customers. And to take marketshare from sites where customers pay more.

It is not only an aggressive way, it's actually quite rude against the creators.

What is it with agencies keeping money thats not yours when someone wants to close their account? It can take years to reach payout, you've made your profit on the image sales.  Just pay the money you are due !!! GREED
Correctly, the withholding of money in such a case is not only in Germany (where I come from)  a law violation, but probably in most European countries. Maybe even in the whole western world.

The next step would be actually: We pay you once and then sell your images as often as we want!
