When you'are getting older (and wiser) you realize that every car from 1,000$ to 10,000000@ will take you to the point A to Point B!
Yes all cars will take you point A to Point B , but how fast and how much style will they take you there ?

I never liked the faded bad color effect pictures on Stocksy. Not my cup of tea. Maybe they sell but I doubt it...

I sell on both EyeEm and Getty. Your question is a good one. I do not know the answer. I my be shooting myself in the foot by doing both. I do sell a fair amount on EyeEm and that is why I have stayed with them. EyeEm is also very easy to upload. As Dylon said so well " The answer my friend is blowing in the wind"...

For me I have made a steady 500 to 600 bucks a year on 123 . Clearly not my top money site but good walking around money. I do have a strange portfolio and maybe that has something to do with my sales. https://www.123rf.com/profile_mj007/new

So you lose payments for a year after you close you account and your images are still listed for a year. Maybe I misread? If correct kinda like being in the mafia....

The equivalent of paying to work a "glory hole" to "blow di$*s", in the hopes of becoming a full-time prostitute one day.
I could have not said it any better than vectorblazer..."Simple stated brilliantly". .

I just came on a site that is new to me. Freepik. Are they part of or a sub of Shutterstock ? When you go to their site Shutterstock comes up in their rate packages.

I will give you my secret as a Christmas present. I do post photos with stories, on Twitter and LinkedIn weekly with a link to my different stock sites. I don't think I get any sells by doing this but I do think I get more sales by this. When I do the posting on these sites it seems my sales are higher that week. When I stop posting the next week my sales drop. What I guess is happening is the algorithm of the site is in favor for me the more new people look at my stock sites.Just my guess. If wrong that is OK....Merry Christmas

You would think they would want to promote their church if pictures were done in respectful way. Maybe not....Then again the Catholics have had a lot of bad press on the kiddo thing with priest. Then maybe that bad press was good press for our kids safety.....

Steve thanks good article. I guess my questions are. Is the site worth doing...ie sales vs time of doing site. Are you required to sale images outright if buyer request exclusive rights. Do they pay out in a timely manner.
Thanks, Scott

That's the whole idea of an auction, the deadline. Clearly some images would never sale. Then again some will always find a buyer because of the deadline. Maybe....maybe Not....

I think also if this existed photographers would start shooting original images for this in mind when they are shooting other ideas.. Not sure what you would make on a auction sale of photos. The auctions would be timed for winning bids. That could be as little as a dollar for a image or maybe hundreds of dollars depending on the image. This might be a way for the photographer to defer some of the cost of travel photography or model cost.
