Yes, the tool combined with presets is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
Too bad it doesn't do raw files, but I'll work around that. Usually, I keyword before processing, but can just as easily do it the other way around.
It really goes well with my workflow, I never keyword raws in Lightroom, for me they are just a middle step to getting to final jpegs and eventually raws all get deleted once I've pulled all I wanted and I'm happy with jpegs. So with stock ready jpegs I go into Xpiks, work on metadata and save.

I use Xpiks to both enter keywords and upload files.

If this is not a typo, then I declare myself stupid to understand simple things: "As our sales through Getty and other partners increase..."

Hello qunamax, Did you get paid for those photos that Profimedia took from Alamy ? Asking because I have the same issue. I came across my photo on one site in January, signed by Profimedia, and it still did not show on Alamy.
Hi, in the meantime sales have taken off for me on Alamy so it's a bit hard to tell. I can confirm that one Profimedia sale was reported (I can see the country details) for 3$, about a month ago. I have the other photo reported too but I doubt it's from the same buyer since it was sold for 36$ and no country reported - worldwide designation (and the magazine I saw them in is not worldwide - Serbian language only).

A bit off topic, I noticed that Fotolia login doesn't work anymore in Microstockr android app and that there's no Adobe option.

I personally think that the is review chart is much slower than before, but it is sold very rarely!
For a period of time it was around 20-25 days, so I guess it's better now, flood gates open.

Now you are gonna get flamed for uploading there

I know nothing about it, but I thought that PAL and NTSC were things of the past, that now you shoot fps that's best suited for the genre of video your are recording and the look you are after. I guess everyone is now after that film look so 24fps makes sense.

It makes sense not to upload them all at once, if they are similar, a buyer(s) might need one of them at a given time, say they see it in the fresh section, but they don't need all of them, so the rest will probably be buried cause of no immediate downloads. If you upload them with some time apart every photo will have a equal chance to be the one that sells and rises in the search. In theory.

Interesting. I normally use 12mpx but I guess more than 24mpx is just exaggeration.
About this, I have had some rejected photos (specially in Adobe) and you are saying it would be a good idea to reduce the megapixels in order to reduce imperfections and avoid technical difficulties. How do you that in Lightroom? I would like to give it a try. For example reducing from 12 to 8 mpx in order to enhance quality.
Thank you.

In the Export window you have a Resize section. Or you can do it in Photoshop - Image - Resize - Best for reduction option.

A lot will say that they still sell old 4mpx in huge quantities, that most photos are downloaded for web use. But consider two other sides: - You might be missing on sales for other uses, large prints and such. - With more mpx body you have more ability to crop and more importantly you have more room for downsizing not so perfect photos to mask out the imperfections which will enable you to shoot more relaxed, not to worry much about ISO, tripod, heavy post etc and include photos that otherwise you would discard for lack of technical quality.

True, I have DT submission anxiety and always leave the process for "later". On the bright side they review images in only a few hours.

I edit in AdobeRGB and export to sRGB JPEG. It's all a big mess if you ask me, for instance, windows viewer will account for colorspace in fullscreen mode but won't in windowed, stock sites will display sRGB correctly but social network sites won't etc. Also noticed that if I go for a high saturated color grading, the sRGB will scream like crazy especially with orange/red in the skin tones, so I must use AdobeRGB to stay more true to editing version or go back and tame the saturation in sRGB file. I don't know the science behind it I just wish it was more universal and made more sense.

I don't think smudging out random faces has much to do with stock or anything creative. It would need to be a full AI 3D photorealistic solution. If it was that simple, 3D artists would be the first ones in the line of fire losing their jobs, not photographers. Right now, not even 3D artists are making photographers obsolete. It might happen, but not anytime soon. One has to look into 3D design to understand what that AI needs to do to make a quality 3D image, let alone photorealistic image indistinguishable from photograph. Just consider 3D scene, shaders/materials/textures, lights, models, simulations, compositing etc... A random human head won't do it for anything creative, it needs proper lighting, meaningful scene, props, rest of the body with clothing and all, the same thing that goes into creating a good 3D image and as I said, we still need 3D artists for that and none of the currently available major software packages is anywhere near anything automatic, actually it's a very long and tedious work with a long learning curve. If it was that simple, none of the companies that make games that render on those Nvidia gpus would need that many 3D artists. And I think this won't change anytime soon for them, for game graphics, let alone photorealistic renders and photography.

Just a way for them to earn a bit more with conversion. Otherwise, I have zero conversion rate in my bank.

I dived into this a while ago, because it costs me hunderds of dollars a year. I can actually open a USD account with my bank, but Paypal will still only send euro's because my bank is not in the USA... They will only send dollars to an american bank account.
Same here, bank account specified to handle both USD and EUR and I always get sent in EUR from paypal.

Or just cutoff both highlights and blacks with curve for something like 0.1 or less percent. Or cutoff them really good to stay trendy.

I used to, but as I recall it stopped working and consequently I stopped visiting this forum from my phone altogether. As far as I'm concerned, I've lost the habit now and are more home bound so PC is always near. Tapatalk is a great concept thou, highly recommended.

I would take $50,000 for my portfolio in a heartbeat.
And like most of us, start right over making new.
With photos of exotic destinations.

On the rise compared to previous months, a bit behind SS, Adobe took over both.

I might be missing something but why would I buy this guy's footage instead of getting it for free from where he took them?

If anything, Paypal might profit.

Yes clearly, on a technical side, but what do you guys think about sales potential, photos vs illustrations, in terms of if potential buyer is actually techy enough and knowing that 3D render can realisticly depict the thing he might be looking for in photos strictly?
