Hi

I wander what is the deal with SS Followers, the number you see under "Earnings". Does it work and How?

I used to have this number climbing as time went by but for some time now it's stack at 44...
Have SS frozen this feature?

Also I was wandering if anyone knows what does "followers" mean in SS and how important are for sales?

Thanks

Means nothing if they aren't buying. Just like views are not sales. You can argue important to have more followers, but if you don't know who they are, like might be competition watching, the number has no meaning without who. Do you have socil followers and I have none? I have seven buyer followers and you have two. Who sells more?

I think it stop growing because the follower button had been removed after SS updated their site.
Don't know if it's effected sales or not. But I prefer to have it back.

I think it helps boost new images if they get seen with some instant sales. But I also think most of them are competition. I have 128 and that number also stopped climbing for me a wile back. Used to get a few extra every month but all of the sudden it just stopped.

This was a good feature I do not know why have they disabled it. The whole site is a huge mess now with too many pictures. Features like follow helped customers to focus on what they need.

Regarding changes made recently (I think) that are a step backwards IMO - they've removed the option from More/Advanced Search to look for work by a particular contributor. You can still do it from a a particular image (click on the name to see a portfolio), but you used to be able to do a search and then narrow the results by contributor name, and that's gone.

I'm guessing they don't want buyers to be able to pay too much attention to who produced the work

Although they said they will bring this feature back, I don't really think they will, and I totally agree with you. What good is for them buyers downloading images from old contributors and pay .38 comission, when they can pay .25 instead?
