For long time, I was a contributor, and I will keep uploading my images as I get some significant incoming for it, but today I'm also working on some blog project, and I'm thinking now about buying some images at SS.

I have two questions related to it, first one is related to the website usage of images. I can use a full resolution picture as background of a wordpress template??

My second question is if the monthly subscription to SS: 750 images per month: 249$ per month (0.33 per image) are just one-month  payment, or I must keep paying every month? I'm a little confused about that because there is also an annual plan that is slightly cheap.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I am wondering why you ask here, instead of asking SS directly??

Nothing you get here is official, and if you act on bad info, you are the only person that will pay the price...

You are right and thank you for your advice.

Anyway, I think it is always good to have some feedback from people of this community because here there are a lot of people with huge experience. I will double check any information before doing anything...

Why not both?

Sorry I don't buy pictures. I have heard of other people here selling and also buying photos so maybe they can help you.

If you read the license agreement, you'll see that you need to buy an extended license to include a stock image in a digital template - so that's more expensive and you can't get that with a 750/month subscription

https://www.shutterstock.com/license-comparison

This page (and you should check for your country as the prices do vary around the world) shows you the EL prices - $199 for 2 is the cheapest:

And yes, get in touch with SS support to verify that you're getting what you need

Thank you for your reply Jo Ann
I'm actually not thinking about develop website/wordpress templates, just creating my blog, using some template and use some images as background of the website. I think that enhanced license is only in the case I'm selling a template that includes this particular image because in this case, the image is part of the final product and will be sold several times.

Anyway, this is an excellent question to do to SS support before starting my project, mainly because if I need to pay 199$ for two images, I think it is better for me to spend some money in a good camera and start to take my own pictures for this project.

My misunderstanding. Just using a stock image on a site does not require an enhanced license (and how it gets onto the site doesn't matter - code it yourself or use a wordpress template). It's only if you're creating a template for resale that you need an EL

Regarding the subscriptions, unless you need a huge number of images in one month, as a buyer you're better off with the pseudo-subscriptions where you get 10 images for $49 - more expensive per image, but $49 instead of $249.

You can pay for one month, but you have to be careful to cancel so you aren't billed for another month automatically (some buyers have complained that they didn't realize that and thought it was a one-time payment).

You can buy a certain number of images in a prepaid pack, but you only get 5 images for $49. However, you have one year to purchase them instead of 10 in one month with the pseudo-subscription.
