Title: Editorial image problems
Post by: jools on February 21, 2012, 08:48
Hi folks

I'm trying to get one of my images up on Shutterstock through the editorial root. It can't go up any other way as to try and Photoshop out some of the artwork in it would ruin the image.

It's already on Dreamstime but Shutterstock keep refusing it on the grounds of the "Editorial Caption - proper format needed".

This is the image. It was taken on 21 July 2007. Can anyone help out as to what caption I should actually be putting?

Thanks for anyhelp.

looking at your picture, you need to talk about the pics on the wall on the left, make a cool caption you might get lucky :)

Thanks.

I did read what you have just posted after the first fail. Corrected it for the second time and they still said the caption was wrong ???

It might be easier if you paste in the editorial caption you are using

yep, they need a fact, a statment, something newsworthy, come up with something, like one the most visited landmark in the UK, bla bla bla, copy stuff from wiki perhaps, make it somehow newsworthy

OK. So how about I put something like this:

LONDON - JULY 2007: The Houses of Parliament in Westminster is the meeting place of the British government. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in London.

LONDON - JULY 2007: The Houses of Parliament in Westminster is the meeting place of the British government. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in London.

LONDON, UK - FEBRUARY 21: Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament in Westminster on February 21, 2012 in London, UK. The meeting place of the British government and one of the most visited tourist attractions in London.

place the date you shoot it you can perhaps say the number of visitors per year

All of this exact like they ask.

CITY, STATE/COUNTRY – MONTH DAY: Factual description of the image content
on [date] in [location].  Qualifying newsworthy second sentence (if necessary).

You left off date and location. All including caps and punctuation.
