Um, sorry, no.  Just steadily downhill for me.   You must have written a nice letter to Santa.

Aside from a few HUGE EL and OD  sales, things are as usual.  Would have expected higher DL numbers for November,  but the big sales are boosting the $ totals.

Not here.  Looks like I peaked in October, and it just seems to drift back down, despite uploading.  Disappointing.

Congratulations on the sales! For me it is the opposite in the moment at Shutterstock. It is unbelievable low in the moment!

pancaketom

The month started out well for me but has taken a big downturn the last week and a half.  Not a huge drop in the number of sales, but nearly all just subs lately.

I have seen a 50% decline in sales ever since the last algorithm change.  :( But I haven't uploaded anything new in forever, either. Hopefully they will change that algorithm so I can see sales double again. Seems like every other change, I lose.

November and December are my best months at Shutterstock, and this month is tracking that way. So far, I've had four Enhanced Downloads ($28 each), and three Single Downloads that averaged out to $73 each. Surprisingly, these high dollar downloads were not holiday themed, although a lot of my regular downloads are. I wish others were having as good a month.

Yep, I agree. October was fantastic, November probably (just) on average. Was hoping for more for November, before the Dec & Jan slumps.

Currently in the middle of my best ever run with SS. Mind you, I'm pretty low-volume... I'm talking about 10-12 sales per day as opposed to a more regular 1-4. I'm also 99% editorial so perhaps not a great gauge of how things are going generally.

you must be one of Santa's elf! I must be a grinch because my sales truly suck!

Desintegrator

For me number of sales are not crazy good, but huge SOD downloads are more and more frequent, and my return per download is over $1 nowadays, which is good improvement for SS.

I don't understand the point any more, when people say, they reserve their more interesting shots for Alamy and such, because they  don't want to sell them for $0.38. The truth is, I get more $75-150 sales on Shutterstock  than any kind of sales on Alamy.

Subs as regular. Higher sells at istock indivstock canstock and fotolia. But fotolia with less commission each download. It seems 123rf knows i stopped uploading.. worst agency this month for me. Istock best for me. Got the same regular sales as subs. Never happened to me before.

Very similar situation to mine.

For me is also a good month. I sold one file with 28$ and at this time my sales on SS are better than all of October.

Rage

Good pretty decent earnings this month. Most is from the subs sales of last month at istock. SS for me is going badly this month, hardly any sales there. The rest of the agencies are as always silent as a tomb

dpimborough

Shutterstock has been absolutely rubbish this month compared to the steady increase in sales through the year then it just crashed in November.  50% down on October. :(

KnowYourOnions

All is well in my garden.

SS is the best because they heavily invest in sales, chase the buyers and push for us ALL. It's a serious biz and prof team working on our behalf to sell our files, and I thank them for it.

I always like to look at the IS portfolios of some of those who are stating 'fantastic month'. It does give some sort of sense of balance to see how their sales are there, purely because it's easy to see sellers stats on IS as opposed to other sites. It helps to show what someones definition of 'fantastic sales' actually means.
Here is a selection of sales data for some of those reporting their sales....
100 files sold in a year.
40 files in 2 years.
50 files in 3 years.
1400 in 8 years.
3600 in 7 years.

Ariene

Nov. is much better than last many months. I'm surprised in increase, even without uploading news.

It is tricky when you don't know the numbers involved. A huge uptick could be a 300% increase from 5 sales per day to 15 sales per day. That could be down to uploading a handful of decent new images rather than something else.

If it's from say 200 to 600 sales a day that is more interesting.

I'm not sure how many people are getting 600 sales a day, that comes out to $4-5 million a year.
Just my opinion.

I get over 200 a day on week days and I doubt I'm top 5%
ETA and I don't make anything like $1 million/year!!!!
