They show the image size now for RF images, but not for Editorial. Background color picker of some sort, it changes for each image.

This image has four downloads in it's lifetime. Don't believe the rating.

Shooting chicken like crazy now!  8)

That's a Christmas turkey from years ago and the funny part is, I started it at about Noon! More like smoked turkey than a roasted turkey. But it tasted good that way. I've always wanted to make one in a kettle grill, and I knew it took a long time, indirect. Covid meant, no family dinner and we were home, so why not?

Earnings are close to a dollar now, which wouldn't pay for the lighter fuel and the match.

This is my one, and only, BBQ chicken photo. Both are plop and shoot.

And my only steak on a grill shot...

And they buried the price information.

A full-blown subscription model is in our collective future.

I keep having this new layout on and off for several weeks now.
Sometimes it's this one, sometimes the "old" one and sometimes the old one with the (random and incorrect) pupularity/usage display. Has been going on for quite a while for me.
I actually like the look of the new one just from a visual point of view, but the images look horrbly blurry on it and the same collection/more from this artist sections seem to have moved even further down the page.

I don't like the new look at all. Just awful.

I'll have to look. I'd agree about the popularity being a mystery. Yes, it seems that similar has bumped us down the page.

I don't like the new look at all. Just awful.

That's the usual reaction to any change. Nothing personal, or disagreement, just saying... like when they re-did the map and then the landing page and other design changes, the first reaction is "That's Terrible".  :)

I like the colors thing, but so far I don't like that artists are below everyone else and the featured, similar are next to it, from other people. I'll let the dust settle on this, but so far, it's just lipstick on a pig.

Yeah!!!! Happy New Year!!!  Otherwise our artists will get lazy.

And..... in Alamy I also go back to 20%, Only I'm afraid I'll stay there for the rest of my life!!!  :-X

Customers now have to search more for my photos, while the photos of my competitors are more visible. Favorable to Shutter, unfavorable to us, or they have to place my photos highly visible among my competitors. Then the disadvantage is eliminated.

Pond5 also has a new look on their homepage which despite all the doom and gloom sales wise here I think it fantastic, buyers are now forced to use the search window and type in their search vs clicking on those collection boxes.

I kind a like the new ratings. I had several photos that have sold multiple times the last few months but before they stated "Never used". Now it says it says it has been sold frequently and the significant engagement part. Between never used and sold frequently the latter is more close to the truth. And I think it will help my sales hopefully  8)

I think it's positive. Also the size because I shoot relatively large megapixels these days. So that might help as well.

I was a bit surprised to see SS advertising discount prices for Adobe videos today.

I know from my own photos that the SS rating of a shot is garbage. I see that new work once marked as unsold is now marked as 'medium' having sold twice in the last 2 years. Stuff that sold maybe 15 times in 5 years is marked up to 'high' and 'frequently used' and 'Superstar Shutterstock customers love this asset!'

The new format with 'select a color that may or may not be appropriate' can be pretty awful. One of mine of a whole boiled ham (isolated) was in a surround color similar to the ham color (but more salmon-colored) and it looked really cheap and nasty.......as if made by someone without a clue about graphic design......cheapo internet sites from the early years and not graphic-savvy.

What is worse is the placing of other contributors' never-sold but similar photos next to my 'seller'. The competition's similar photos used to be placed below the image the potential customer had clicked on to view larger....now the competition is alongside and distracting from the shot the customer has selected. There's also something wrong with their 'software'...........

.......If I click on one of my own shots from recently sold, I get the enlarged version in the crappy-colored frame with the competition next to it. If I then click on one of the competition to see how much it never sold, I get the large version and the contributor's name but with my mugshot next to their name! Eek.....I'm Polish now! I then go to another photo that also never sold and I click on the contributors name to see their port (female from Latvia). Then, I go back to my own original shot of the ham to discover that my name is correct but my photo has changed to the Latvian female whose port I just viewed.

Unless Adobe has has changed since I last looked, their presentation is much fairer. They show similar work from the same contributor first in 'more from this series' rather than similar work from competitors........and they, of course, know what good graphic design is!

The new look looks unprofessional. From my point of view.

Some media info for footage is missing, like the fps info. Has it been deleted or just hidden?
And the title is half hidden. You have to scroll down a bit first and then unfold the text if you want to read the full title.
Instead, the buyer is offered other videos, right next to the object of desire, which are not relevant at all.

I mean, the new look is almost as bad as the look on some free content sites.

That's exactly what my wife said when she saw the new format.

Well,
after numerous sales of 10 cents, the last few months, I got a commission yesterday of $1.22 and today one of $16.15. So it might be a coincidence but otherwise bring it on with the new look  8)

Dunno whether the new look has anything to do with it (doubt it) but I've had two SODs this month for a total of $85+. I can stand the ten- and teen-centers as long as these big sales come along now and again. Also had a couple of subs yesterday for $0.98 and $0.99 which presumably means buyers going for smaller (but higher value) subs packages.

I noticed that too, but didn't say anything. I saw my avatar on someone else's image when I looked at similar.

We should assume like past SS innovations, they will be fixing it for months, with minor variations, or dump it and revert to the old pages.  :)

That background color works for some images, but for the red, turning it into puke, it's sick.

Isn't less information sometimes better tho?, if it's all about content content content these days maybe info like fps etc could throw off some customers?.  also, maybe they are copying the free sites, after all the free sites have some way of staying in business with no revenue.......hmmm.

Did you forget the sarcasm smilie?
I think so.

If I were a buyer, I would not buy where there is not enough info.
Dreamstime doesn't have fps info on footage either. I would never buy footage there. When I had a look at the website and some videos, my first impression was : totally unprofessional.

Perhaps the new SS designer is an 'undercover' brought in from a competing business.  8)
But I hope everything will be fine.

Yes but times have changed and people are dumbing down while getting smarter if that makes any sense and maybe they are catering to that crowd who is now entering or in the workforce, those who will just tap on something that "looks cool" and use it and don't want to see or care about those pesky technical details.

I live in a mixed student building in a college town and it's mostly computer science and engineering students here, they do programming and math to the next level, some really impressive stuff but can't clean a room or operate a complicated piece of equipment like a vacuum cleaner if their lives depended on it.

They think differently, I can't understand one symbol on their math assignments yet in real life they function like 2 year olds.

There was a big party on my floor last Friday and it was great btw but then came time to clean up the next day and none of them could figure out how to get rid of 30 balloons so they asked me if I knew who sells large garbage bags because we have a lot of balloons to get rid of and I said sure but you're gonna pop them first right?.,  they had no clue what I was talking about, their plan was to put all these balloons in to large garbage bags and haul them out to the bin.

I took a fork from the kitchen and five minutes and a lot of noise later I swept the remains up with my bare hand and put them in the little kitchen garbage bin, they looked at me like I was a god and them proceeded to tell me how smart I am and how much money I could make......

That's who's entering the workforce......

Yep. They use a nice shade of grey on some and that's OK but even when the color is good, the look is still a bit amateur/cheapo.
