Hey everyone,

I was wondering whats the ettiquette on resubmissions to shutterstock?

I just had 7 out of 85 approved and was wondering if there was a way to maybe salvage some of them. I've been at this awhile but never had this happen and wasn't sure if im alowed to resubmit. (obviously only if i make the changes)

Thanks

You can resubmit of course, and you should always write a note to reviewer what you changed. Trust me, it's important to write a note. But 7 out of 85?? Why only 7?? That's strange... Do you have those images on DT or IS?

Send them in small batches over a period of time.  Like a batch of 20 one day and a batch of 15 the next.  If one reviewer doesnt like your work or is possibly in a bad mood or something, you have a better chance of getting a different reviewer for the next 15-20 and so on.

Nice surprise today.

I always send batches of not less than 50-60 images and  I never had more than 3-4 rejections , in most cases 1 or 2 in more than 3 years.

Well, someone probably had a bad day, and rejected almost entire batch today.

And for what reasons , most illustrations were rejected for wrong white balance , then few " please upload color version of images" , by the way its the first time I got that reason for rejection.

I'm uploading the entire batch again for sure.

It can be worth your while to resubmit. I have about an 80% acceptance rate at SS. Not so  long ago I made up a batch of previously refused images, and got an 80% acceptance rate on that batch as well. It has also happened to me that a reviewer rejects a photo and sends me a note to change something and resubmit.

I feels like some reviewers just look at the thumbs and decides not to like your images. Or not look at all, and earn money fast.  (They do get paid for rejects as well, right?)

In the same time, If it werent for this, wed have 20 milion images on every agency...
