SS actually updated the contributor side of the site? Amazing!  ;D

Thanks for letting us know. That should make things a bit easier; it's always been frustrating having to find the right batch the photo was UL'd in in order to edit it.

It's not Shutterstock, it's an external  addon script for Shutterstock contributors I work on. Easy to install bookmarklet for Your browser, just check out the page.

Looks nice. it seems to behave in FireFox the same way it behaves in Chrome, is there any difference?

Or did you mean that it works not only in IE and FF, but also in Chrome and Opera? When I read it first I thought the preview ONLY works in Chrome and Opera. :)

Preview doesn't work in Safari (but editing works)

Yes You're right i need to correct that description, was to late for me.
There should be no difference between all the browsers,  besides some layout alignments just like in Opera, but it's not important at this stage.
Safari for win ? I'll check it out of pure curiosity, thanx for th e feedback.

Also, it mentions 1 error when loading SS gallery page.

@epantha cool it works for You too:)

@MikLav unfortunately i have no W7 nor Mac around here :/ maybe in time will figure out this issue, won't guess.

Running it with no problems on XP and Linux (Firefox). Will see, if some Mac user will report it works under Safari then W7 looks shifty.

Yeah, it's awful, isn't it, they way they just stick to something basic that works instead of giving us the genuine V2 and F5 experiences that we all love so much.

Gee, coulda sworn they did something to the contributor side not that long ago.  Something that makes specifying model releases a pleasure.  But maybe I'm imagining that.

Just added the Firefox version, after adding Greasemonkey, restarting FF and being confused for a while. Then ran the script, which was interesting because I also run script blocker on FF.

Way cool, I like it, and it looks good besides being functional. I'll have to try the edit function for keywords, which is probably much more useful in the long run than looking at my 25c sales for the month.

Thanks, it works and it appears well designed too.

I didn't see the country part, which I hope is coming from SS soon. Then you'll have some more coding to do?  ;)

Yes,  It can be a strange experience starting Greasemonkey for the first time.. I'm glad You like it.
Thanks for the tip about script blockers, I'll include this info in SSS description.

I have also another idea how to improve editing functionality - for speed especially.
Country...forgot about that, I'll see how much text I should exchange and then I'll decide if it wouldn't take too much time.
I want to include all the tweaks first.

plrang - I've tried your toolbar and think its a great idea but a bug I found is it disables the search button.
I'm on a Mac using latest version of FF. I can type in search terms and hit the enter key to search but the actual search button does not work when siteboost is installed. Anyone else notice this.

I noticed this with both the initial version and the new one.

You can
remove Greasemonkey add-on now
or just remove SSS script from Greasemonkey
Also You can just click the Greasemonkey icon when on Shutterstock page and unmark the SS Siteboost in context menu.

OK since I'm no greasemonkey expert, it took some guessing. Here's the easy version for anyone else...

Right Click on the Greasemonkey Icon
Unckeck the "SS Siteboost GM"

Old version goes away and just the new 25b Firefox add-on is operational.

Nice work and Thanks.

This is totally great. Sure, Shutterstock should have done it themself, but as long as they don't, thank you very much for this.

One question: What does the number on the top right next to the "Refresh" word stand for? I mean on the LEFT side of "Refresh", I know that the number on the right is the minutes the tool should update stats.

And why is the refresh button blinking?

Thanks,
Robert

0
Yes it will work only until SS will get a new site engine.

[Refresh] is blinking to show that nothing stopped the Javascript timers (a simple test from early versions). The number shows users of the script online in last 15 minutes. It doesn't store WHO it was, only the fact it was used.

Locks up on my FF, I just get some spinning disks and the page never loads. Before you tell me... I have Flash Blocker installed so I have to click on an arrow to allow them to run. I also have a script blocker installed. So nothing wrong except the way I have my system protected against attacks.  ;D

If I want it to work I can just install the software on Chrome and I'll see everything just fine.

It's me, not your software. Just so you know when someone else can't get it to work, you know what will stop it dead. Flash Blocker.

This edit is like a prequel. :D Installed and runs just fine on Chrome. Yes I have a Script Blocker running on FF, not just the flash blocker. I have the site OK to run scripts so I'm not sure what's causing the lock-up. More so you know in case someone else has the same answer, but I didn't dive into figuring out why. I just went to Chrome which I use for some other sites.

I use script blockers too but have opted to allow scripts on specified sites like SS and got both working.
Looks like Your Flash Blocker locks out not only Flash because there is no Flash inside SS SiteBoost.

Hm, somehow the version 0.28 doesn't work for me.

It keeps on "wait" for days now, though I watched the spider complete all three tables (25-a-day, EL, On-Demand).

My total stats keep looking like this:

No flash or javascript blockers in use on the shutterstock and the polish site...

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Robert

Hi - sorry if this is a really DIM question.....but I'm very confused by all this!!! The software looks great but......
I've got Windows and Internet Explorer. Is there a version of this that I can download and use for SS?
Do I need other stuff eg Chrome, or Greasemonkey (whatever that is??)???

For IE is the bookmarklet version, but it needs to get clicked each time You change SS page to another. Altough bookmarklet works in all browsers... ::)

The best solution is the Autorun version:

- works in FF (as an add-on)
- in Chrome, Safari and Opera (as a script) - in Opera installation is not to easy.

Add-on or script - it does exactly the same, it may look a bit different because of browsers features.

Actually in max 2 days I will put version 0.29 online, fixing some bugs and tweaking functionality.

I would suggest Chrome, FF or Safari - depends on Your preferences and computer resources. IE is  :'(

hi!

Currently statistics for one enlarged photo only shows for a few last accepted pictures. Other pictures are enlarged, but don't have any data underneath (i.e. last sales on the map and pictures in my gallery).

Is it possible to get such statistics? Sometimes I want to check how particular photo is doing so it would be helpful.

(and as a possible next step beyond the request above - statistics for groups of photos - not sure if it's feasible to do within a plugin)

Edited to add: and once again many thanks for your great tool!

@ MikLav

Stats for a single photo are available at:

- Home Page thumbnails as You've said
- when You roll Your mouse over a thumbnail in Live Stats panel or You click that thumbnail
- when You enter APPROVED PHOTOS, in any batch: http://submit.shutterstock.com/review.mhtml?approved=1&type=photos

- on a EDIT PHOTO page - You can go there clicking in Your GALLERY or below selected photo on it's page

I would like to show stats directly on previews in GALLERY, but it's not possible because it's another domain WWW.SHUTT.... and not SUBMIT.SHUTT......

( Javascript restrictions, I could do it using external code and my server, just like I do it for referrals scanner... but I don't want to transfer any stats or personal data outside SS site.
In time maybe I'll manage how to do it using [extensions features] if that wouldn't  split the code to different versions for FF, CHR, OPER or SAFARI )

So, if You want stats for a photo You don't see actually in the Live Panel or on Home Page, You have to search for it using standard -Shuttterstock image search engine- and then click EDIT (pencil) ICON.

It's also impossible for me to show stats on Image Previews on the WORLD MAP because they use different kind of URL and I can't find a photo ID using this URL.
This is another feature I wanted to have/add in a first place, but SS site HTML code is not 100% consequent.

I'm working now to put 0.29 online today. Hope nothing weird will hapen again.

As for " statistics for groups of photos" - You mean batches? Like @fotorob described in his article from the post above http://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2010/11/15/shutterstock-geballte-umsatz-statistiken/
Well it's easy, maybe in 0.3

No I meant groups that I would define myself. Pictures from one session spread across multiple batches. I guess it's not so easy to do...

In theory it's easy, but because SS site code could change anytime, it's [time to complexity] relation.

I can't invest too much time to something what tomorrow can disappear (like when SS will change a large amount of the site)
So I try to focus on most important things and keep it simple.

Altough I have a large list of features to include and add there each new feedback information.

0.29 is online

Please test it, hope I fixed all major bugs

I didn't see any bugs in previous version, but I am less lucky with 0.29 ! :)
First, it didn't install from your site so I had to take it from Mozilla.
Firefox could not install the file at

http://351.pl/plrangjs/ff/sssiteboost.xpi

because: Invalid file hash (possible download corruption)
-261

- I tried a few times with same result.

After installation now it opens statistics window when I try to see my home shutterstock page. Empty one, with little rotating sign on the left. And not reacting to "Close".  This one was easy to solve - the previous version of your add-on was installed via Grease Monkey and the new one isn't so they seemed to have conflict. When I disabled the old version the new one works fine.

Fixed, would be great If You could test again the installation, no gathered data will disappear during that process.

:) There are still some bugs, hope only the minor ones left. Finally I'll have a possibility to add some features instead of catching errors.

Right, If You have Greasemonkey version and add-on installed together, it may not work.

I did put few control points to avoid multiple launches, but do not check everything, because it's too much time consuming.
Reasons is always the same, no API available - using the Shutterstock HTML -  thus all I do may tomorrow get broken.

I really enjoy the SS Boost prlang.

Is there any way to query the SS database so you can show the performance of a certain image over time?  With SS in particular, I would really like to know how well an image sold after it's initial push.  I track some of this myself, but it just takes so long it's ridiculous to keep up with.

For instance it would be great to take one of my best sellers from 2008 and see how it is selling month to month in 2010/2011, kinda like how iStock lists individual image performance.  Honestly I am shocked SS has never given us something like this...   ::)

If your Siteboost 0.29b is disabled in Firefox 4, this is how you can fix it:

Seems like Siteboost 0.29b is not compatible with Firefox 5.01 or Firefox 6?
I guess I have to wait for an update then.

Thanks in advance... :-)

EDIT: 20.08.2011: Sorry, my mistake, I had Greasemonkey disabled. Now it works again... :-)

does anyone has problem of it?

when i put my mouse over the images to check the statistics, it seems the statistics is always wrong with some invalid EL downloads, sometimes it is a duplicate of OD downloads under the EL column..that's mess up the total earning of images.

I'm start using it today on Chrome and it's working.

One of the reasons to use 3 browsers is: One of them will work ;D

Upgrade to firefox 13.0 and SS SiteBoost no longer works. Is there an update for the program?

I'm using firefox 13.0.1. I guess thats it for SS Siteboost. I always liked that program. Can't find any way to work around except to go back to earlier versions of firefox.

Am I right that the greasemonkey script for Shutterstock doesn't work after they introduced their new page layout some days ago?

Everything seems to work in Chrome except the "edit" when I'm viewing in Gallery sorts. Probably some small link adjustment.

For now it's back to looking at All Approved, and going through those, then the edit works.
