I have just tried submitting some innocuous editorial and non-editorial content (street signs, storefronts etc.) and SS is not accepting the submission. When attempting to submit, it says "invalid keywords removed" and "This asset needs attention Please review errors".

 - I have submitted hundreds of these types of images in the past with no problem
 - It says "invalid keywords removed" yet no keywords were removed at all and the keywords were very "plain vanilla"

Also, another in the series was accepted.

Is anyone else seeing this?

(If SS had real support, I would just call them up and ask them, but their support is pretty much non-existent in recent years.)

Thanks!

FYI. I figured out the problem.

There  were certain keywords SS did not like.
When I would attempt to submit the image, the system would say something like "invalid keywords removed"
It looked as if the invalid keyword(s) were gone. So then I would resubmit and still get an error.
I noticed that it put the "invalid keywords" back!

I found that if I manually deleted the keywords SS didn't like, then I could successfully submit the image.

I stopped submitting to them when...

a) They dishonestly "trained" all assets (sold the data) to probably openai/sora/midjourney/etc, "then" gave an "option" to "opt-out" (after they stole the data & sold it)
b) They dropped video sales to something like $0.10
c) Their interface (don't normally say this) - 'sucked' big time in that not only was it extremely painful & cumbersome to upload items (which would sometimes freeze the browser), but their 'ai' or 'east indian' moderators would arbitrary reject assets on things that really had absolutely no basis/made no sense for the explanations either...
d) jon originer (or whatever his name was) changed the royalties to bare minimums @ the start of the year, so you had to take 6-7 months to get to where your regular sales were before...

Are you seeing that much success from shutterstock (i.e., say >$500 as a minimum/month) that you actually still wish to continue uploading there?

From what I've seen, the monthly commissions have dropped way down from where they were a year or two ago. Still worth the effort for now.

Here's my Shutterstock experience.

Review time is good and reviews are done correctly. I recently uploaded a bunch of images and only two were rejected and SS was right to do so (my mistake).

Number of downloads is up on previous year by 18% (end July). RPD is okay and tracking to my normal average. It's at the same level as 2019 and 2020. Not as good as AS but that is compensated by a lot more downloads.

Overall, I make twice as much on Shutterstock as I make on AS.

What evidence have you got to substantate that claim?

As for $0.10 video sales, I've never had one of those, and I think that's unlikely to be true either.
