Hi Guys,

Is SS more difficult than other agencies to gain approval for?

I've just tried  and failed at my second attempt, which is puzzling me as the 10 pics submitted have been accepted on 4 'big four' sites, and/or have all made sales for me.

What's more, 6 out of ten were rejected.

Is it worth trying again in 30 days time, or concentrating on other sites?

Thanks for any help and advice given.

The key is to try to post your images on their forum, in the critiques section. I have done this in several iterations, and finally, had a very good idea what images to submit. It took several weeks for the whole process, mostly because I din't have enough good images for application at the time. However, once I collected images that were approved in the forum, I was accepted from the first try.

Good luck!

I had to try three times and now they have been accepting 90% of my images... They are also the highest seller so far.

Do you need to have a SS account to read the forum? And can I ask them just to go to my DT port instead of posting the images on their forum?

You don't need to have the account to read the forum, just to post in the forum. They have guidelines on how to post pictures in the forum. I wouldn't advise to post links from picture from another stock agency.

It might help if you suggest you work for the IRS  ;D

I guess not (not good idea to post links to my DT account, for example), but I will check out the SS forum like you advised, and get some direct inputs. Thx goldenangel !

Shutterstock is definitely worth the time, I think it took me at least 3 or maybe even 4x's before they accepted me, but they have been my #1 money maker and #1 in sales after I was finally accepted.  I also get the bulk majority of my new images accepted too!   :) ;D
