Why would you even think of being a stool pigeon for istock?  I have nothing against them personally but lots of folks feel they are not exactly fair so an element of karma if someone is putting one over on them?

I am no pigeon, it just happens when doing searches etc no need to look that much to find them

whole port
contrary to DT.

I thought so, thanks.

you don't often hear about DT exclusives, on paper it looks good, is it?

For me SS accounts from 25% to 40% of my monthly earnings thus make sure you are also a contributor to the rest of the sites. Alamy is the wild that really can make some big sales just not on a regular basis- at least for me on my limited portfolio. I figure with about 600 or more images you should be able to reach the $100 pay out each month for ss...

I have waited a year to give my thoughts on SS and leaving IS exclusivity. I would say for me it hasn't been worth it. I have lost around $100 a month. I make around a dollar a day at SS and many rejections so my full portfolio (including ONES THAT SELL at IS) are not included. Even worse for Dreamstime. Only managed one payout this year from them as it's a $100 threshold.

Even with IS having a terrible year it would have been better to stick with them but I suppose you have to take risks. My thoughts on SS are very very disappointing to say the least. This month one of the worst. Others will probably probably disagree.

My compliments for waiting a year and giving it a chance. Has it been a year already? That was fast.

So far after leaving IS exclusivity and going to SS is absolutely dire. After 3 days at SS I have earned a mere $2.00 on 8 downloads. That's much worse than IS who pay more than that for one download. I have checked my images and they do come up in the searches.

I remember when you started asking about this and some people mentioned that your collection wasn't as much microstock as it was art and scenic. maybe that's a good reason why it didn't work across all the little sites, like some others. Maybe that's why so many were rejected? I like the cows and people shots, very natural.

Some others have found success on becoming non-exclusive. There's no guarantee and maybe for what you have, it's more marketable on IS only? I don't know.

But as always, I wish you the best, whatever you decide to do.

Did you link to your port? I'm not going to if you aren't making that public. But if people can see your work, it's easier to understand how it's not like the bright, colorful, pop, Microstock. Nothing wrong with what you shoot, just that it's not mainstream.
