I have uploaded 40 photos lately on SS, DT, AS, BS, DP and AMY ... rejection rate for SS? 95% for ridiculous reasons... All my pics have been 99%-100% accepted by the other agencies mentioned above.

I don't have any rejections. Acceptance is 100%. How, you may ask? Well, no uploads to Shutterstock solved all the problems.

SS rejections are beyond my understanding of common sense. I uploaded some clips with graffiti on wall and put them under editorial. They got rejected with Not Editorial: Clip does not fall under one of our acceptable editorial categories or it may have been incorrectly tagged as editorial.. Then I resubmit clips and mark them as commercial. They got rejected because: Missing Artwork Property Release. Then I tried the third time, again under editorial and guess what, rejected because Not Editorial. Now let's see what will happened the forth time. And fifth time. And I don't think this is the work of AI, I would say there are some naive or greedy humans involved. And I hope SS goes down.

Apparently SS does not accept graffiti as editorial for whatever reason and requires a property release on it for commercial, even though that doesn't totally make sense either since graffiti is mostly done illegally.

All my pictures are out of focus now. All of them in the other agencies with no problems.

I stop uploading to them.

Not to lose the mood of the thread, and just in case everyone doesn't read everywhere.  :)

Sorry I left out similar but every spin of the wheel, the image gets rendered with the new text and it was starting to get fuzzy.

haha - I *LIKE* that... yes, that is EXACTLY what shutterstock reviewers are using to decide if a clip gets through :P

Defend for what? That's a very broad statement.

Defend rejections for similar, I probably will. Defend rejections for graffiti? Yup. Defend for rejections for many other choices that SS makes over what they want and what they don't, legal or not. Yes.

Defend for vague rejections, like focus, probably not. Defend for soft, grain, noise, artifacts, trademark... depends on the image.  ;D

Hey while I'm writing, this is mostly for fun. I haven't done one of these in eight years: here's what the buyers see. The ones with the basil and spices have been up front for a long time.

So that's the best of the best for sliced tomatoes? All 768 thousand of them to pick from.  ::) Look at the 4th one in 2020, it's top row in 2015. Are the newest 600,000+ anything worth ranking for buyers, in fact was 55,000 of these enough?

Makes me want to go out and buy some tomatoes to slice and shoot? Doesn't this motivate anyone else? Really, make money from shooting things in the kitchen, sliced vegetables. Who believes that?

If you think I'm being sarcastic and absurd, you're right. Because how does anyone think that uploading more of anything else that has hundreds of thousands of choices and good ones at that, lead to making any money from Microstock?

Yours... Mr. Cheeseburger, I'm still shooting them.  :o

150,161 cheeseburger stock photos Why would anyone even take the time to shoot and upload yet another cheeseburger photo? What's the point?

In my case I want to know I have the best, most perfect stock photo of a cheeseburger that I have ever made. I don't expect it to make me rich. I do expect to eat the burger, right after I take the pictures. How often can you buy lunch, and have it pay for itself?

Bought at the food stand, took one shot, uploaded. "Free Lunch"

That's right and what we should think, but the facts and reality of too many (fill in the subject here) doesn't support our confidence or personal opinions.  ;D

I could do this every day. I mean point out something I have and the competition:  946,965 sunset panorama stock photos but then when I use a better search with one more word, it doesn't look quite as terrible. 2,395 sunset panorama corn stock photos, and many don't actually include corn, so it's not so bad?

Capital Building is not English. Capitol Building is English. US Capitol is not English. US Capital is English. I also don't see a tourist or a senator for that matter.

pelosi would be my guess? Is Nancy Pelosi in that photo somewhere? Something about keywords for things that aren't in the photo?
