Title: Calendar creator
Post by: madelaide on October 06, 2009, 18:16
Does anyone know of a good calendar creator?  Not for big calendars, but those compact ones.  I wanted to create some stuff in Zazzle with compact calendars embedded.  I did find one site who creates in AI, but only versions CS3 and above, and another that generates a PDF, so I can not change font type.

Why template?
It so easy to make. Define 7 columns and enter numbers from 1 to 31...
faster than exploring some bugy features of exporting options from cheapy applications.

Anyhow I will avoid applications with key "Make it good"

Yes, Suljo, I can do that in Excel or whatever, but there are applications that do that directly, like this in PDF:
http://www.calendarsquick.com/printables/2010-calendar.html (http://www.calendarsquick.com/printables/2010-calendar.html)

They have a paid version, but apparently works for only one year.

I dont mean shity Mitjotoft Excelj.
Define it direct in Illustrator, and you have much more fexybillity, originality and much much more control of font visibility.

Can the PDF be imported into another program you
can use for changes?

Jerry,

I can change color only.  It's not a bad option...  But I would like the versatily of the font changing.

Maybe I should give that site a try.  It's not that expensive...

While you discuss about that "templates" you can make even 10 of youre own  ;)
In other word you cant use templates from applications for stocky work I think.

Open Office (FREE!) has templates available to download (FREE!) and you can use them to make your own, then save as a PDF. Done!  :)

here's what I do to make calendars:
in Corel/Illustrator/inkscape start with something like this (see attached file), define the spacing between rows and columns at the beginning, then move the part in blue left or right to match the month you want, copy the part you need and paste it somewhere else, and repeat for next month. not as easy as an automatic calendar creator or a template, but still relatively easy and fully customizable.
