Title: Lossless Compression?
Post by: Daneel on March 14, 2007, 15:16
Hi all,

which lossless compression method do you use to archive your photos? Adobe Raw?

Thanks,
Michael

RAW straight from the camera.  Have considered DNG (adobe raw) and will do if I get CS3.

Hi!

Sorry - I meant after postprocessing. Photoshop can't store cr2 and dng is not available in CS2. I'm using tiff with lzw compression now, seems to work fine.

Does anything speak against tiff with lzw? Any better formats which are readily available in CS2?

All the best,
Michael

i use tiff and zip compression (smaller files - longer save times)

I save the RAW file and a TIFF version with LZW compression. That's lossless and works well for me.
