I've been wondering if it's possible to use google analytics to track traffic to my istock portfolio like i do with my zazzle store. The tracking code i'd have to add to my member profile is javascript...is it technically possible? (i have close to zero coding knowledge). Been looking in the istock forums but everything vaguely related is locked without answer...
gracias :)

Technically everything is possible (programming wise) - however it would require iStock's involvement (to my knowledge). You would have to use an identifier that makes your portfolio views trackable, which would be the same thing like Zazzle. I don't see that happen at iStock. That would be a too nice of a move from iStock's side. I think they have plenty of other things to worry about right now.
However, it is an extremely interesting thought to know how many hits we get on our ports on a daily basis. 8)

I don't know about Google Analytics connection but Cutcaster has offered such an option for several major search engines since their beginning. One of my collections has over 3200 views,, thanks to a link to Google search.

no it's not possible. ;D

No site will even think of allowing private Google tracking code on their servers. First it's a load on their resources (imagine how slow the site will get if everybody does it) but most of all, it's a huge security risk.
The code is a javascript call to an outside black box. What if you "mistype" that outside black box to a typesquat domain and inject the core iStock site with some malicious code from there? You'll need somebody at iStock to review your code first and that will take resources that don't benefit iStock at all.
Forget it. GA is a tool for webmasters.

Thanks a lot for your replies guys! Aww, its a pity we can't... in my ignorance i thought it could be possible to convert the javascript code you'd have to paste in your profile section in something UBB'ish.

DeepMeta tracks the number of views on all images. What additional information are you looking for?

i can see the numbers of views in my details page on istock too... it would just have been nice to get all the additional info google analytics provides (unique visitors vs returning ones, bounce rate, nationalities, traffic going up and down, etc...)
