Hey everyone,

Weve been hard at work improving our AI Keywording Tool, and we've just released an update that makes keywords specifically for Getty/iStock. I thought some of you might find it useful, especially those exclusive to Getty or iStock.

Ive always struggled with getting the right keywords aligned with Gettys controlled vocabulary, and I figured others here might feel the same. The tools still in version 1, so its not perfect yet, but you can try it for free. Id really appreciate any feedback from those of you willing to try it out whether it actually makes the keywording process easier or if you have suggestions on how we can improve it.

Heres the link to the tool if anyones interested in testing it out: https://www.pixify.io/studio/free-ai-keywording-tool  (make sure to switch the toggle over to Getty/iStock model)

Hopefully, this could help streamline some of that tedious work we all deal with.  :)

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Cheers,
Jacob

Only stills?

A friend of mine is working on one for video.  It's really rough, and the interface and functionality is very basic at the moment.  Here's a 40-second demo:

Pixify Studio supports both stills and video uploads. For the Getty/iStock keywording model specifically, we mention stills only in the app because we havent thoroughly tested the tool with video submissions yet. That said, you can definitely upload video content, and weve seen good results already.

If youre working with video and submitting to Getty/iStock, feel free to give it a try! Your feedback would be super valuable in helping us refine the tool for video content as well.

Thanks for bringing it up!

It is a very interesting tool, I have sent links to various people, especially those who are not strong with English.

However lately I have started to dumb down my descriptions because a good, advanced and detailed description can be used to easily recreate the image with ai prompting.

It is a dilemma.

But I might sign up and just buy individual credits instead of a subscription, glad you have this option.

eta

ok i have to sign up for the 5 dollar plan to be able to buy additional credits.

hm.

As a technical layman, I have the greatest respect for the fact that someone has managed to develop a tool for this strange iStock-keywording system. Hats off.

However, I'm afraid that your business model won't work out. The service is only for a single agency, which also manages to sell assets for single-digit cents.
I think very few people will want to pay money for that.

But good luck anyway.

I might be someone paying money for that. The istock CV has been driving me crazy and this will make uploading a lot easier.

For Adobe I just need to let adobe add some keywords, which is very easy.

The titles and descriptions are lovely and detailed but also make it exceptionally easy to recreate and copy the images with ai.

Usually I have over 15 simple base keyword sets with number commands. So descriptions and keywording otherwise is easy enough. For titles and descriptions I am now dumbing them down and making them very short and generic.

Then the copy cats at least have one additional step of asking the ai for an image description for copying.

eta

I wonder why istock/getty don't integrate this tool.

Many other agencies have keyword suggestion tools.

We do have a standard metadata model that produces metadata for all other agencies as well!  :)

How is this specific to iStock? These example keywords don't look like they have been disambiguated at all.

The example MaxMax posted was from the standard metadata model. You can easily see how the Getty/iStock model works you can just head to https://www.pixify.io/studio/free-ai-keywording-tool and upload a picture.

If you don't want to do that, here's a video.  ;)

excuse me - three questions.

1) video is not supported yet? I've tried - but it allows me only upload stills.

2) after metadata has been generated - is there a way to export it to csv?

3) what exactly means the istock/getty option? I thought - it will create keywords which won't require putting the meaning of each keyword on istock site - is that true?

thanks a lot

you can take a screenshot of your video and have the app describe that

istock/getty option gives you getty style keywords so you don't need to disambiguate

I manually move the data over, no idea if it can be done differently

once I get back into active istock uploads I will certainly subscribe

1. Why is the tool free? I see you have listed prices on the site.
2. Tags take a long time to generate.
3. Tags are not separated by commas, which means there is no point in copying them, because for stocks tags must have commas.
