I am looking for a new, easy, nice and FREE software for editing IPTC info in JPG images. Can anyone recommend something? The most important: it has to work with batches.
Thank you in advance! :)

Hmm, I don't work in batches with Exifer (I believe it can't), but I do import data from another image, adjusting data accordingly. I think Irfanview allows batch editing.

Microsoft pro photo tool is best tool i was told in this forum. Multiple images can be handled for IPTC data and the best thing is keywords remains in same series you have entered. And yes its free.

You can try mine software. Xpiks. It's free, cross-platform and open source. More details in this topic http://www.microstockgroup.com/software/xpiks-open-source-software-for-microstocker/

I'm using InfranView for years now http://www.irfanview.com. it does everything, batch IPTC, batch delete EXIF, batch resize, no crashes, easy to use and free.

It is really hard to find tiny, free, offline IPTC software for keywording...

If you are into a little command line programming, then exiftool is the best you will get. It can do almost everything with metadata - you just have to find out how.

I'm sure there is some way to remove duplicates, but haven't found out yet.

exiftool command line access takes a lot of work (I think). On the homepage, near the bottom, is a list of Related Utilities which might reduce the pain by presenting a graphical user interface that overlays on top of exiftool. I'm not well versed so your mileage may very. Google "exiftool GUI" for more options. http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

Yes with Thumbnails, which come together with Irfanview. For series it is very suitable, for example for reportages.
