I'm not sure how much of a change that is

Though I thought they were subsequently divorced (and "transferred" reverted to "intransfer" again).

Mantis

Good for them. I hope they do very well....staying married and business wise.

Good change.  On a side note it looks like Stacey Newman is no longer with Stocksy?  http://www.stocksy.com/staceynewman

Yep, she jumped out rather suddenly.

Monty-m-gue

Hmmm, that's very curious. Stacey was a very active participant in the Stocksy community. I'm quite surprised she left without explanation. Anyone know why...?

luissantos84

Jasmine mentioned that on her FB page yesterday (not the reason)

they only recently had another baby, that's pretty friendly for a divorced couple. I think both of them have done tremendously well, and Brianna being preggers during launch year can't have been easy. Bravo.

Good news there, then. My source was obviously misinformed.

She could be with both companies, as long as she didn't send the Stocksy images to Offset or elsewhere.

Sorry to post on an old thread, but figured it didn't make sense to start a new one.

I just stumbled on an SS article when looking into upcoming talks.  http://www.shutterstock.com/blog/introducing-guerilla-shutterwalks-how-to-organize-a-shoot-in-your-community from July 2014 says she is an SS community leader. I guess that's why she dropped off the Stocksy community map around that time? Funny to think how invested she was in IS

Haven't we all been heavily invested in one company or another at various times? I've backed certain companies only to see things change and need to shift my focus elsewhere.

iStock was a company worth backing at one time. Obviously those days are long gone, but up to a certain point I think it made complete sense for Stacey and others to be so personally invested in the company. Sean was another big proponent of iStock. Things change, that's just how it goes.

Agreed, I was thinking what is says about the recent history of microstock more than about Stacey in particular.

yes, so true embermike. newman was more or less the last to jump ship from exclusive and no doubt it worked for her with is. as far as i know, there are still a lot of top sellers still with istock, so we cannot say it is not working for them.
the whole world does not revolve around certain microstockers top seller or not. if they don't revolve around Yuri, etc  they sure don't revolve around much lesser notables ( and i am not referring to newman).

hi guys - thanks for the concern  ;). we've all made decisions in our careers based on current conditions. I made a difficult decision, one that I had not planned, in leaving Stocksy in January of last year. Let's call it irreconcilable differences. I have strong opinions about how contributors need to be treated. At 9 years in the industry, like many of you other veterans, we have all been around the block a a few times and we know what we want. There is a lot of opportunity to be had in our industry, but it takes creativity, hard work, and a good working relationship with the agencies where we sell our work. It requires that agencies listen to their artists, the very fuel of our industry. I am very active in our community, something that has always been important to me. I am indeed very happy to be Canada's Community Leader for Shutterstock, a role I have embraced since March of 2014. I am also an enthusiastic Offset contributor.

I read here regularly and always glad to have so many canaries in the coal mine at MSG. I think we're all in this industry together. Cheers,

Stacey

I thought Stocksy was treating their contributors properly? Is that not the case?

SNP

Stocksy has some incredibly talented contributors, many of whom I call friends. I wish them all the success that they well deserve. In the meantime, it's all about working hard and smart as contributors, and having our agencies working for us and with us to keep us making money in the years to come. in our ever-changing marketplace; there is much opportunity to be had.
