I let it go a year since my last rejection, and sent once again, my top 5 selling images ... and then I got the standard rejection notice.

Since I started applying, I think they have seen a pretty good representation of what I am selling, and still no good.

And yet a search of their selling images seems to mirror other sites.

Maybe you're blacklisted? Did you badmouth them on public forums back then about the rejections?

NO. I do not recall bad mouthing them. I do remember asking some people to review my portfolio back then. The one last may was send us another 5 because we are not sure about your quality.

Send me a link to the best portfolio you have.
I will use my special God given talents to determine if in fact your work is worthy
of note, and should be allowed to even exist.

I usually charge a $50.00 consultation fee for such services, but as you suggested, I am
looking to get a life, and to make myself useful to my fellow man. A rare occasion never the less.

Send me the link here. You will receive my professional evaluation within 24 hours.

How about sending them a link to your best portfolio showing the sales that you have had on the images that you are trying to get approved by them.  I read somewhere once that it worked for someone on one of the sites.

Your work looks fine...just keep trying. Took me 3 attempts to get in. FYI, your photo http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-2930033-full-house.html , is actually a royal (or straight) flush...I want to play poker with YOU!  :D

I agree it is good stock photographer with clear concepts, don't understand why it's being refused.  Perhaps Steve will drop buy and take a look.

maybe it's not your bad mouth, maybe it's because these are all shutterstock old stuffs.
why don't you send them something new that SS don't have.

nobody wants secondhand fiddlesticks ;)

I THINK THERE IS SOME VALIDITY in your statement  DE! 8)

of late I see a number of SS contributors trying to dump their garage sale stuff onto other sites. Maybe the other sites are smart enough to know they don't want to play "2nd fiddle" to anymore SS-ers.

Ya, Litifeta, I think you should take new photos and submit to them.
You will get accepted, I am sure, if the standards of photos are any good or better than your portfolio with SS.

WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOSE?  ???

My acceptance rate on StockXpert is actually higher than on SS and I am uploading exactly same pictures. I was accepted on second attempt.

maybe StockXpert does not play hardball like SS , which almost never ever pass anybody except "gods" first few times.
i think SS is unrealistic, esp. when they don't look at anything pass the 3rd failing mark. VERY NEAR SIGHTED, and we all know why many of you SS-ers
are trying to go elsewhere. 8)

If SS is so good, why are so many SS-er looking elsewhere? ??? ??? ???

I suppose any kind of exposure is better than no exposure at all, esp in microstock where volume and time are criteria.
perharps, the thought of waiting in line for SS could well be spent submitting to other site who are more receptive to your images.

there is a reason why there are 6 sites in the Big 6.
SS is only one. and although it does sell big for many,
i am of the opinion, from other networks that the others sell equally as much with IS , DT,etc..

I guess if we find the proper market for our images, we can then be happy waiting there and wagging our tails  ;)

I think tan510jomast has a point.

Instead of belittling yourself as a photographer based on the acceptance of Shutterstock, realise that this is a question of marketing needs.
There is a large market for hamburgers and junk food, and there is a niche market for culinary by the Le Cordon Bleu school.

You decide which your creative images belong to, and then direct that energy with them. This way, you don't frustrate yourself "wagging your tail"  to get accepted by Shutterstock, or whichever site.

In the long run, there is still the big picture of being a photographer
you can live with.  making a few dollars or even pennies a day
does not make you the photographer you wish to be.

It's our choice. Personally, I don't think too many of us are making a living in microstock. Other than Yuri ??? 8)
