What do you do?
- Simply comment & view the previous posters image and then post one of your StockXpert images and the next poster will do the same for you! You can also link to your portfolio and let the person pick what image to comment on if you wish.
Why do it?
- Popularity (which includes views and downloads) and comments are all search options for the buyers. The more comments and views, the better the search rank.
Rules:
- Post a positive comment or don't post anything at all.
- You obviously can not post twice in a row.
UPDATE: (6-27-2008)
Been awhile. I haven't been uploading much so I haven't posted anything here. But now I have. It seems they have gotten rid of the rating bit, so we can't do that anymore. Just comment and view. If their search rank is the same as before, the views + comments should still bump the images up, especially on newly accepted images, so I suggest posting them here.

Vonkara you've got a problem with your keywords for that image: many of the words do not appear to have been separated correctly, so for instance the first three words are all underlined in a row and don't make any sense (you can see what I mean by hovering over each keyword). Some of the others separate when 'mouse over' but also look 'joined'.
Hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but your keywords are also quite poor (I appreciate that English is probably not your first language); for instance you've got a classic picture of a Christmas gift, but you don't have Christmas, Xmas etc as keywords. You've clearly got to change the keywords quite quickly if you want that picture to be bought in the Christmas design rush.

Thanks hatman, this is one of my first images there and i was finding the upload system bizarre. I just badly imported and separated my keyword. You know sometimes, when it's time to go to bed.

Sorry, Nazdravie, it was my mistake! I think I went to page 2 of this thread and saw Leaf's post on top. He received a gross comment in his photo.
I've just rated yours. Review your keywords, composed keywords with prepositions get chopped in separate keywords when StockXpert reads the IPTC data, but if you edit and cut the commas, they get right again.

Sorry to hear that you are scared back there. The front seat has a much better window and not sharing what I see from there would be selfish. If you look at my pictures, you will see that they are taken at altitude, where things are a bit more relaxed. Sometimes just after takeoff or just before landing, I wish I was in the back where I could take pictures...

I did shoot some pictures a few years ago in the cockpit, but that was before 9/11. I don't think they will let me in again if ask now!
Being a hopeless amateur at he time, the images where horrible, everything outside overexposed!
Oh and I had Microsoft flight simulator! Do you think it is accurate compared with flying for real? ;D

I just rated one of your pictures, and no I don't read the gauges like the forum ;) But in my defense, your link is pretty easy to miss. I got you covered now.
As for MS flight sim, I am not a gamer and I tried it once with a friend who plays a lot of games and he can outfly me on the computer any day. Than is my only experiende with this game. It did look pretty realistic though.

The rating box is above "image details".
In some cases rated images sold after the rating. They do come better in results, that's the deal. But ratings will be disabled (there was another thread about this, or was it here?)

Been awhile. I haven't been uploading much so I haven't posted anything here. But, now I have. It seems they have gotten rid of the rating bit, so we can't do that anymore. Just comment and view. If their search rank is the same as before, the views + comments should still bump the images up, especially on newly accepted images, so I suggest posting them here.

Here is some proof that it helps search rank. This is by popularity, the default search order on StockXpert. My new image (submitted yesterday) ranks 10th with 60 views and 2 comments. No downloads. It doesn't work as well with old images though.

Hi tan510jomast I commented on Kngkyle's image on pg 5 of this thread but did not include the link to my image so "Trebuchet" couldn't comment on my image after that(which is what I was referring to).

sorry, I wasn't clear enough. When I said "you" I meant all of us here, both ladies and gents, and by "gentleman's limit" I meant something of a "mutually agreed limit that would benefit all and not clog the page with just one person's photos". not to mention that I'm new and pretty hungry for attention, so that's why I asked :)
The only limit is that you have to wait until someone else has comment on you image and posted a new image. This topic is not to increase you activity at MG and make you images visible here. It is to increase your search rank at StockXpert and make your images better visible there. You can do this only if you are very active in this little game here.

Try a search for "new year 2009" in StockXpert, and see how much stuff is not only a huge stretch for "new year" (snow flakes?), but also have nothing particular for 2009.

as much as i think many of your images are awesome, i am not even sure if this is a good strategy to draw downloads.
would it not get us overblown numbers of views and little downloads.
that worked the same way as those mean IStock stalkers who prey on our images and get 20, 40 views on first day , would it not?

StockXpert search is not working the same way as IS. The views and comments gives a small push for the popularity sort order at StockXpert

Perhaps you should try it then. I can tell you it has worked greatly for me. From my experience IS is a completely different beast.

Just thought I'd let you know that this image did not show in your portfolio when I browsed by 'date decending'.
Indeed, it's not showing. Because it was just accepted one hour ago, along with some 20 others. But I wanted to see if the views are increasing, I suddenly got 6 views (from zero) in a blink. It was just for testing purposes, it'll show up in portfolio tomorrow I guess. Or later, today.

UncleGene, there is a difference in views for newly uploaded photos, for old photos it does not do much...for sales NOTHING!!! ;)
