Here is the download for 1.3.7
https://github.com/orangeman555/symbiostock/blob/master/symbiostock.zip?raw=true

See this post for details on using re-processor:
http://www.symbiostock.com/version-1-3-7-image-reprocessor-re-watermarking-added-fixes/

Before I was taken away to chase my tail for a while on these issues, I was working on the much bigger improvements on Symbiostock (search and network) so I'm going to get back to these now. Plus I have to update the main website so its much more obvious how things work with Symbiostock (simplification, etc)

As the saying goes "The Shoemaker's children don't have any shoes" there are some much needed issues I need to address outside the scope of the theme itself, but on its marketing, website, and general added features.

Still, thank you for prompting me to action on the IPTC and reprocessor. It gives some nice features I can use in the network/search system anyway.

The bigger release will probably be as big as the initial release of Symbiostock itself for the work involved.

I hope everything is running stable for everyone. Continue to help one-another as I have to really start focusing on other aspects of this venture :D

Thanks again,
Leo

Just installed and looking good!

Just a quick question, Leo - where are you getting the email address for the copyright notice in the image metadata? I'm getting the old one showing up, and I can't find where it is in the config to update it.

There is no configurable stuff now. But when there is you can reprocess it!

Example from your latest upload:

Copyright (c) Colin and Linda McKie 2013
Image Location: http://www.picturemojo.co.nz/?post_type=image&p=6268
Image Contact: your email [email protected]

Image contact is taken from the user email you are logged in with.

Also with the new release you will find the copyright field reverses as you had suggested, putting year first.

My user email is [email protected] and has been since we moved the site. That's the odd bit. I can't find that old email in any WP table.

What ever email assigned to your login is what you should be seeing. If you check your account settings is the email correct?

Interesting! It looks as if I haven't logged out for a couple of weeks and the email was coming from a cookie rather than current config. I logged out and back in, and it's updated that email. Fixed!

Thanks!

Finding a few problems with the reprocessing. Seems to just hang at times. Got a white screen or two. The site actually refuses to open in Safari at the moment now.

Managed to get in with Firefox, so probably a safari restart will fix it. But I might hold off on the reprocessing of images for now...

You may find it "hangs up" depending on how many you attempt.

Example: Saving a post reprocesses the image automatically. It should definitely not hang up there.
Example: Reprocessing 5 images...should be fine. Heck, 20 should be fine.

Its unlikely memory will be an issue this time. More like "script run time limit" which differs among people.

But...that will change based on your server configurations. If it hangs up due to errors, please send me the images its hanging up on so I can see if there is any unique info its tripping on. That should not happen though because I'm using a pretty sound script.

I was a bit eager to begin with...tried 250! No luck.

Then 50. Worked the first time. Then the next 50. But for the third lot of 50 it hung, white screen, no error messages. Since then it seems to have slowed my site considerably.

I'm on Bluehost, with Imageick running.

I just reprocessed my images, 20 at a time, and all went well. Downloaded a test file and boom! there it is! the IPTC. Awesome job, Leo!

In one thread, I remember reading about some little bit of code we needed to add to php.ini to tell it to use the imagick processor, but I can't find that post now. Do I still need to do that with 1.3.7? If so, can you post the code again?

Never mind, just found it.

At this point your not seeing bugs - I think your seeing what happens when a server attemps to do what your computer (much more powerful) does with photoshop.

Keep it around 20 images or so. For instance, if you have one image with obnoxiously high dimensions, that might be the one it crashes on. The fact is if that image "got in" to your site on GD library, it should be nothing at all for Imagick to crunch it. But yes, at this point your probably seeing things "maxed out" and unlikely to be pushed any further. More than likely it will be the "time" factor, and yes, will slow your site :D.

That hamster in the wheel went from powering a light bulb to a whole disco when he goes from serving pages to processing huge images.

20 at a time...such a voice of reason ;)

Fair enough, well in that case I might wait until we can personally edit what data we want in the IPTC. Then I'll do the reprocessing

How many images do you have up? The next release will broadcast that data btw :D

IPTC and "backtracking" will continue to be a part of my work on this. During next release I'm hoping to put more control over IPTC fields on each image.

800 images live. Another 1500 to go.

Next release sounds good. Will it also include ability to change image sizes from admin (you've always had the options there, but they just don't work as you know) for all images?

Yeah that will come eventually. Along with the ability to do it right on the image edit page.

I also got problems with imagick. Or the latest theme, not sure. I hadn't upgraded since 1.3.3 or 1.3.2 I think, but since using the latest theme and imagick I have issues.

I just uploaded files that were only 6MP in size, 110 of them. Previously I could easily process 150 12MP images at a time to drafts. But now it seems it timed out after 70 images. White screen.

It was working perfectly before. I am tempted to go back to before imagick.

After processing, clicking on All Images just goes to a white screen. I have to refresh it and wait a minute or two for it to work.

In case it gives a clue to anyone as to whats wrong, my php.ini file contains this only:

upload_max_filesize = 64M
post_max_size = 64M
extension=imagick.so

Should it contain anything else to help with this? Again, I am on Bluehost.

Are you sure it's timing out? There's a lot more processing going on in the latest version and it does take time. The white screen with just the 'Process Images' title can appear at any time while the server is working - or not appear at all - but if the full screen doesn't load then the server is still processing. In Firefox, the pinwheel keeps spinning in the tab header until the rest of the screen appears, with the file list header and footer. That's the signal that processing is finished.

ETA: Your php.ini settings are fine.

btw my php.ini is:

upload_max_filesize = 32M
post_max_size = 32M
extension=imagick.so
