I have finally finished editing and uploading..  My site is totally ready now..

from now on, it will only be minor tweaks if there are any at all..

I officially finished uploading and launched my site today.. and wait for it :) got my first sale too  :D

Thanks Leo, and helpful symbiostock community here! forums really did help speeding up "childtheme editing process.."

Oh, and here is my site: http://www.cidepix.com/

Please also share your "finished sites".. (let's keep this thread for sites that are "%100" ready to go..)

Good job! I love how you modified the menu - and it works great.

Love the simplicity as well. Next update (along with search) I will most likely have your image processing issues improved so godaddy hosting can handle the biggest images.

Thanks again Leo..

That would be amazing..! because I had to process 3-4 images at a time, which took ages..

the only thing I couldn't figure out is that when you hover over the "search button" in internet explorer, the color changes to a grey gradient.. I have no idea how to prevent that.. otherwise it's great!

Thats an annoying issue which seems to have developed on its own. It should have a similar effect as the blue button under the product table. Eventually I'll fix it.

Beautiful site! Can I ask which slider you use for the homepage? I like it!

I'll put your site at my SY network. I'm looking for vectors dudes (we are few by now) and i have only 3 slots filled. Including ceidepix.com, only one empty.  ;)

Thanks, Cidepix. I'm doing some search tests over my network and i try also a search over you site. Works fine, but i can see some overlap at the bottom page. I don't know if it's a site issue or a theme issue. Image below:

It's something Leo will be dealing with in one of the next updates as far as I know..

I haven't changed anything, so it should be an original bug that is on every symbiostock site..

Can I make a suggestion?

You might want to add the Shopping Cart at the very top menu bar by the login & contact - otherwise it disappears out of sight when you navigate around your site - just thinking from a buyers perspective.

Very nice site, great content too :-)

it looks beautiful! well done.

although, your watermarks are a touch heavy?

apart from that, loving it! i've no idea how to/what's involved in setting this up, suspect it's beyond me, have just been enjoying watching the process. good luck to you.

It is looking good Cidepix  :)

~~

Gillian - we are all beginners with the Symbiostock theme - all you really need is a website (see Symbiostock.com for Leo's recommendation of a host) and Wordpress and time to upload your images.  It can be used almost "out of the box" but most of us have done some tweaking as we have learned more about it

ja, you make is sound so easy, but I suspect a normal person won't think so!

you mean I am not normal  >:(  ;D ;D ;D ;D

If you take a look at Leo's Symbiostock.com site you will find some tutorials and FAQ's .  You might find them easier to find there as they are just about the only thing posted at the moment which is helpful

Very good job !
Site is simple and visually appealing, and your work is great

My main critic : no browsing categories... and watermark a bit more apparent on images (it's a matter of a few alpha % maybe...)

but very very good anyway.
I would like to have such a website for my own and know how hard, long and painful it is to build and create

thanks for the comments guys..

@mattdixon,
I agree with what you said.. the reason I didn't put a cart link up there is because when a user logs in, a small cart icon appears there anyway.. but thanks for the suggestion.. It is worth to think about it.. maybe, at some point, I will do that..

@gillian, and @pixmicro
it really isn't that hard.. I mean it's not very easy.. of course you need to dedicate a lot of time.. but it is not as complicated as you think.. you just need to go for it..

also, you are probably right about the watermark, but I can't change it now as it would take ages and a more complicated process.. it will have to remain this way, even though I agree about your comments until(and if) Leo comes up with a re-generate thumbnails feature..

there are some "regenerate thumbnails" plug-ins for wordpress and they work really well for regular WP uploads.. I am not sure they will work well for SY previews..

I do some web design with html and css for my day job. Wordpress uses php. I understand the concept of php, but i am having difficulty making changes to my site. Even basic things, like changing the width of a column, involves a lot. So, yes, people do make it sound easy. Wordpress was touted as something anybody could use to build a site, and thats true, as long as you use the theme exactly as it was built, but thats rarely the case. Can you do it? Of course. Is it easy? No. Very time consuming when you dont know php.

I once did two websites using OScommerce which was also php. what a hassle! i'm not a coder or anything so I would have to read forums to learn how to make changes and then very carefully go into the code and make the changes, fearful that any extra character would break the site. ugh!  It was about 3 weeks of work (plus therapy trips for the pinched nerve in my arm)

I once tried to install Wordpress, as they claimed it was the fastest. easiest "one minute set up" (or something) and it was not. I'm still using blogger as a result. I'm getting just a touch too old - with diminishing patience! - to have any enthusiasm for this type of thing, and my kids are about 5 years off being helpful.
