Brilliant, love the individualised design.

You should sell child themes...

Lovely work

I would love to be able to "separate" the background like that, have tried without success so far as I wanted my $$ or should it be , site to  match  my main photography site

Thanks guys! :D  I am still tweaking here and there. As soon as I finish breaking and fixing my site for educational purposes (and get some more images up) I'll move on to making a few child themes.  I think this project has reignited my web design urges!

Very nice. Would love to get something similar. Anyone would point me in the right direction, where and how to start modifying the basic look of Symbiostock.

lots of customizing tips at http://cascoly-images.com/pix/faq-frequently-asked-questions-about-symbiostock/  which summarizes a lot of the threads here in MSG

or if you have something specific just ask about it and someone should be able to help

Okay I've been working hard to get a base child theme put together, and here is what I have so far:

View the Demo: http://www.creativembers.com/symbiothemes/

Some information about the theme, and a place to leave feedback, suggestions etc:
http://www.creativembers.com/introducing-clean-theme-for-symbiostock/

If you are interested please leave a comment on that post, I'm just trying to get a feel for how many people might be looking into pre-made child themes and what you all are looking for. This one is fairly simple in structure, with no php edits and no changes to default pages, so it should be compatible out of the box with any set up and future updates.

There are many more things I can add to future templates including custom page layouts and built in widgets if the demand is there.  Thanks everyone for the encouragement!

PS Demo content is just snapshots I had lying around, I am an illustrator NOT a photographer so please excuse the quality! :)

It looks great Amanda and the name suits it perfectly.  I was going to leave a comment but  did not want to register just to do that as I have recently junked all my disposable addresses and need to set some more up.

You have done in that theme something I have spend the last few days trying to do, I am half way there though.

Awesome look! Congrats!

If you don't mind me asking, how did you remove the drop-down menu (Images/Blog) next to the search field? I want the search function also just to work on images, therefore that menu is redundant.

Thanks in advance!
