Title: Google (NOT) indexing of (sub)folders
Post by: LesPalenik on August 06, 2013, 15:19
I have implemented recently my Symbio site - as a folder in my existing website - http://www.advantica.com/stockphotos (http://www.advantica.com/stockphotos)

The new site works fine, but it doesn't appear to be indexed by Google. When searching for my images, I can see all kinds of links, but none to my Symbiosite. Have other people with Symbio site in folders experienced similar problems?

I noticed some of your menu items lead to 404s.

Here this will help:

http://www.advantica.com/stockphotos/image/?r=http://www.advantica.com/stockphotos (http://www.advantica.com/stockphotos/image/?r=http://www.advantica.com/stockphotos)

An important link to all your content placed in a popular forum. Now it should happen quicker :D

Do you use google webmaster tools and sitemaps and such? Thats helpful too.

Thank you, Mark and Leo.
I just added Yoast sitemap, hopefully that will help. I haven't touched the Google webmaster tools yet, that's next on my list.

if you don't submit the sitemap, google will take forever to find it (if then).  I usually get new images indexed within a few days
