Cascoly and AJT have been putting a lot of effort into graphic and visualizing network data. Hopefully soon we can get a decent traffic tracking system put into the network Theme as well. This plugin is for you two! I hope this makes your projects easier. Free beer :D . Thanks for taking the initiative Cascoly!

For everyone else wondering what this is - its a plugin which exports data in .GEXF format for purposes Cascoly and AJT's projects, to be used in Gephi network visualization. My hope is that this can help you guys put less work into details and have more fun exploring and developing your systems.

Plugin: http://www.symbiostock.com/products-page/upgrades-and-plugins/symbiostock-network-graph-generator-for-gephi-httpsgephi-org/

As the main page says Gephi is like the photoshop of network visualization. The below examples are pretty rough - with a little know-how you can make some very beautiful visualizations - not to mention useful.

If you look at the below pics, you can see what the general potential is once you can get the network data into the program - the sky is the limit. Below are some examples of organizing the network, finding "paths" from one site to another (how many jumps it takes to get there) and other fun stuff.

With time if I can get caught up on Cascoly's requests, we can start tracking traffic and watch how the network operates. Once you have the information, everything comes to life. This is an amazing program.

When Symbiostock sites start populating into the 100's, hopefully this plugin can keep getting advanced enough to watch every detail of the network.

The black lines represent mutual (recipricol) connections, and the random lighter colors are non-mutual connections. The size of the circles represent how many images each site has.

Here you can see an abandoned island has formed! The network test sites! The program intuitively put them outside the cluster...

The program pathfinds between sites...so if your wondering how many leaps it is between unconnected sites, the program calculates the shortest path (very useful for figuring how how to properly network) to make customer traffic more efficient...

And all of the data can be studied and used ... plus exported to excel and similar applications...

Oh and Don't forget your towel.

I'm wondering - if my site (picbreeze.com) isn't listed there, does that mean I'm not on anybody's partner list?

Very cool Leo!  I'll download that plugin when I get back from the day job.  I've got my towel.  Just don't tell us so long, and thanks for all the fish

Hi Leo I downloaded and installed your plugin. I also installed Gephi

I selected users from tick box and then clicked generate graph file. It tells me that it has generated a graph file. When you then select get network graph file screen changes and you get this:

Symbiostock Symbiostock network visualization as generated from http://www.picture5479.com's directory. rest of page is blank?

I think most of us probably do not need this unless we want to spend time working out numbers and links - unless it proves  necessary I am going to leave this to Ajt and Cascoly  :)

Mind giving me admin access? I'm sure it should be ok

right, it can provide useful information, and eventually may suggest which sites people may want to connect with (eg, you might get more traffic from a site with fewer connections)  but there's no need for most people to learn gephi.  we used it a lot in an online course I took and it's a neat tool.  for the current sym network, it basically shows we're highly interconnected.  as # of sites expands that may change

There are currently 41 sites listed on symbiostock.info. I've just set up mine.

I'm hoping that I'm Symbio site 42 which would be, appropriately on this thread, a jolly good thing.

I await a shooting down.

That makes all the difference, if it is Vogon engineering it is definitely required - we need to see where we are going and where we have been - and check to see what everyone else is up to as well :)
