First issue

There is something I can't figure out, even though I've been reading a lot, and it might be my lack in the english language  ;)

I have a site http://danishstockphoto.lk5.dk [nofollow] where I have filled out all - or nearly all - according to the "Symbio Getting Started Guide", and my site also have found its way to the "Cascoly Symbiostock Network List" - so far so good.

At this point I can search and find my own images from http://cascoly.com/symbio/symbiostock-network.asp [nofollow]

If I go to a fellow Symbiostockers homepage and search, I can't find my own images - is that because I haven't connected with the site?

Next issue

I'm sure I've figured out about downloading the Symbiocard, and sending and recieving, but what is the common way to get in touch?

Do I just write to a person and ask if we should connect?

Regards

PS: I have a portfolio around 700 but stopped at around 100 to figure out the basics

You wont see other peoples images in searches on your site until you have networked with others. Likewise yours wont show on theirs, either.

There is a section at symbiostock.org forum where you can announce your site and meet other people, then they might add you.

OK that was about what I've figured out.

I am sure there is some logic explanation to this, but why don't I network with everybody? That way the costumers only have to enter one of us and start the search from there.

You can network with up to ten people directly.  Many of use pick nine sites and then use http://symbiostock.info which is the central search site and links to everyone within the network

I think everyone should connect to symbiostock.info, just because it makes total sense. To the TO I would connect to symbiostock.info first and add other people afterwards after fully understand the network feature.

there's a limit of 10 network slots, in order to keep search results on your site to a minimum.  the 2 global search engines search over all sites, and you're listed on both of those

i'd recommend filling your slots now, using sites that have similar content with yours.  too many sites are missing an opportunity by having only a few links.

also, when you network with others, your symbiocard should start to show up on their radar;  you might also contact individuals you'd like to network with to do reciprocal links

Thankyou for all the answers. I'm beginning to understand.

@Cascoly: Just to make sure. Can i just pick some sites, that is similar to mine and put their URLs in my empty slots.

Do I have to download the symbiocard of my chosen networksites and upload iit to my site, or will this eventually happen by itself?

You can download their symbiocards or you can add their url in the slot, hit return and the blank to the right will auto fill in (their names).

as search continue, you'll see other sites - look at /symbiostock/marketing which shows new sites that have been 'discovered'
