Hi all not sure you all have this problem or not, every time I bulk edit my images, all edited images Yoast SEO status will become red, I just want to know will this affect my SEO index? or this is just for internal analysis? thanks

It must be analyses only. But it does explain a lot. I had the same thing happening to a bunch of images. And could never figure out why only those. But now I know, that were the only images I batch edited. Problem is, you need to go back to every image and click update for it to turn yellow or green again. But I figured its only an analyses, because the SEO is all still there.

Thanks Ron! This have been stop me for using bulk action. But now I want to enable comment for all images, I need to use the bulk action, if confirm it won't affect the SEO I will just ignore the red status, it is too much work if need to click update for all image.

That Yoast status measures your page content in relation to the focus keyword(s) you set. That's just to show YOU how good your SEO is when someone searches for the keyword(s) you have defined. Change that keyword and Yoast will give you a different status. And I guess that's what's happening when you bulk edit. But there's no reason to worry because your page content will still be the same (good or bad).

I just did a quick test and the YOAST Focus Keyword does not show up on the image page at all (and I verified this by reviewing the page source to confirm this). This was news to me as well!

Man, glad I caught this discussion. I just switched over to Yoast last night from All In One SEO and was about to go through all my images to add a focus word. Looks like that would have been a huge waste of time.

It looks like there might be a little misunderstanding in this thread...defining a focus keyword is how you are supposed to use Yoast. There are several tutorials on the plugin author's page, but basically the whole point is to pick out a good SEO keyword and then use Yoast as a tool/checklist to make sure you've done all you can so your page will rank well for that keyword.

Yes, but if I add that focus keyword in the URL, title, meta data and description, I dont need to add the focus keyword in the focus keyword field to check if I added the focus keyword to the URL, title, meta data and description I can skip that step if I want to. But its handy to have it there to do the check. But its not affection SEO if I populate the focus keyword field or not.

true - if you actually set all that info in iptc from the very start - but a quick look at actual images shows that's not true for most images, so amanda's advice will be a big help for most people
