since I am done now with setting up my site http://www.franky242.net/shop for public access (thanks a million again to Leo for support regarding the categories and memory issues!), the only open item is optimization of the (child) template for access through smaller screens (iPad for example).

Additionally I want to share with you some items I discovered as potential additions for the near future together with priorities I would see:

Images functionality:
Prio 1: Editorial Images: Since I have a lot of editorial images in my portfolio, this is my highest priority: We should be able to tag images as editorial, a red warning (customizable red text editorial use only) should be displayed in the image description, editorial images should also be labelled in the users download section and on the receipt the user receives. Additionally a label (red E?) for images on the category and search overviews would be great.
Prio 1: Randomize Image Order in Category view: Each time you open a category, its contents are displayed in the same order (latest addition first, I guess) might be a bit boring for returning visitors. Randomizing the order for every call might be a welcome change?
Prio 2: Display of related images on an image detail page to be honest, I have no idea yet how this might function since the user wouldd need to define images related with each other first?
Prio 2: Amount of images displayed in category view: Let the user select, how many images he wants to see in one go since 32 might be a bit too few for larger collections.
Prio 3: User can change sort order (downloads, latest uploads, views) in a later release it might be an idea to let the user sort his findings on the overview pages.

Other functionality:
Prio 1: Image Statistics List per image its views and sales to give us an idea about popularity
Prio 2: Most searched keywords - compared to most used keywords  that give an indication of the contributors perspective, a gadget showing most searched keywords from the users perspective might be nice.
Prio 3: Vouchers users should be able to enter a voucher code upon checkout in order to retrieve a discount. This would serve two purposes: a.) a fixed discount for returning high volume buyers and b.) the abilitity for promos, for example on Facebook enter code xyz for a 20% discount.

What do you think , do you have the same needs? Please feel free to comment!

Symbiostock is a great development and I am eager to use new functionality in the future...

I also like the idea of having similar/related images displayed on the image page, even if it was something that has to be done manually.

In the future a huge YES for franky242's suggestion !

And - download expiration because forever is a long, long time. Doesn't matter much to me if it's 5 and 7 days or 5 and 30 days. Just that once the license is fulfilled, it should become expired. Five downloads gives an honest person enough tries to get it right, or maybe lose the file and recover it. Heck three would be enough and 30 days, just in case they worked on a project and lost it?

randomize image order -- I agree this would be a good additional option

for searching similar -- has anyone looked to see if the code for this is available somewhere? (I've put it on my todo list)  it would be useful for both internal & networking searches

A note on the search development...this is one thing that comes up again and again with Ktools search that they never fixed, personally I have a huge issue on my site and it would apply to anyone who media with people.  When you search "man" as in businessman on you will get every image tagged woman as well.  Same goes for "male" you get all "female".  Just something to keep in mind.  I think over-complicating the search is easy to do.

I didn't see on the poll options to sell images in sets, I think you had this working on your original site and that's one of the main things I want to be able to offer on my own.  This is probably a more programming intense change so I know it might be a while.  It would also be great if you made it as a plugin that we could buy if that is possible.

I'd also pay for the Amazon storage plugin ;) It's great for security and a little more speed on downloads plus you don't have to worry about hitting the magic invisible number of files with your hosting company...since unlimited isn't actually unlimited!

One more thing if you are looking at new/other payment gateways Stripe seems to be on fire with every other script I look at these days!

I set up a category for collections and list zipped  sets there -- each set will have smaller pix of the images included - and you can just use the zip option in pricing

I put one set together and plan on doing more. Here's an example: http://stompstock.com/image/the-50-states-project-all-50-usa-states-vintage-vector-stamps/

That was really darn smart.

BTW I've added collections to the pole now.

Not really, some guy named Leo made all this possible, he's the really darn smart one.

Naw just a hack. BTW because your unable to give a huge visual preview maybe in the description you can link to the category that holds those images? Or maybe it might be confusing. I'll try to set up support for that one way or another though.

Although it might be annoying, I'll warn you ahead of time that collections, when purchased, will still have the images downloadable one by one. So if you buy a collection of 50 images, 50 images will be transferred to your account - downloadable separately. Otherwise I'd have to figure out more memory management and zip issues which might not be possible on all servers.

Darn I can't revote :)  I like how you guys have set it up Dave and Cascoly, but I really loved the way it worked on your original site Leo.  Especially the previews of the images in that set and the discount prices.  I wouldn't mind the individual downloads as I'd probably try to keep sets smaller.

Is clipartcandy.com the site you set up using Leo's template? If yes, AWESOME! You (or someone) has a handle on styling wordpress sites, for sure.

Is there a way to prove something has been downloaded, a sort of electronic receipt so
that if someome trys to get a cashback from paypal we can prove it was downloaded by a particular address?

I'm sorry to disappoint Cathy that is a Ktools site I customized...BUT I have been doing non-stop child theme/css lessons the past two weeks and I am planning on doing some child templates for Symbistock asap that I'd be happy to share if they come out like I hope! So far it's a dream to style comparatively especially since changes don't get overwritten with upgrades.  WordPress is fantastic!

I'm working to make the master theme more blank so child themes are more easily worked in. BTW - sharing is nice. But you should sell what you make :D

Well, still, wow. You did the customizing. Child templates sounds great! And I agree about the customizing in child themes. So far, I have surprised myself at how many things I have changed with css in the editor window. of course the trick is finding the right css rule!

Yeah, but its going to be totally different than typical search. I could never keep up with a conventional search system on my own, so I have something a little more unique/simple in mind.

I'm amazed that's so low down in the poll.  I'm sure it would be a big attraction to buyers.

best to save it till last, when everyone's sites are top notch, well established... we're talking a lot of work before then.

Based on a few requests the pole was reset to 0 because the options changed. I thought I set it so people could change their vote. Guess not.
Vote for Pedro.

Great! Thanks Leo..

I know download expiration is the most important feature for me right now.. that and admin panel sale stats/information + manual payment approval (in case something goes wrong) would complete the package for me.. :) (for now!  ;))
