I took a look at your website and didn't see anywhere to add a comment.  So I then did a Google search and found this:

https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Acathyslifestockphotos.com+comment&oq=site%3Acathyslifestockphotos.com+comment&aqs=chrome.0.69i57j69i58.2844j0&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

We were discussing this in the "Dealing with user Spam" thread, but I totally hijacked it with this issue so decided to open my own thread.

His link above shows all my titles with Royalty Free Content in them. When I do the same search of site:cathyslifestockphotos.com, everything in my search is showing correctly. When I log out of wordpress, the search still shows OK for me. My question is why is Shazam getting those results?

The first item from his search is a page with a minipic on it. I have not seen that in a search before. Where is that coming from and how can I get rid of it?

Below is what I see:

If you notice I am doing a search on "site:cathyslifestockphotos.com comment" (which says to search for the word comment on your website).

Without the word "comment", I also get a different search result.

Thanks for clarifying, no I didnt realize you were adding the word comment. But I am still perplexed as to where and why thos results are showing.

Can you remind me again how i can do that? I can try a search on my work computer in the morning, but how can i do it on my own computer?

Google knows you and your surfing habits. So they modify your search results and what you see is different than what your friend sees.

Logging out may change a few things, but I suspect even location dictates search results.

in the upper right, there are 2 icons for show & hide 'private' results - a generic avatar & a globe

Thanks, i will give that a try later.

No one can explain why items with Royalty Free Content are showing in his search? Or why a minipic seems to have its own page that can be commented on?

Few things to check
1) are both of you using google.com or a local version of google like google.co.uk

2) as Leo pointed out - google results are slightly different based on location.

3) I think all the databases of google are not updated at the same time. So possible different people are serviced from different servers/database.

If I remember correctly, all of the mini-pics are given a name that begins with "Royalty Free Content".  You can see this if you go to WP Admin and then click on Media.

According to my notes, this code is in
wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/classes/symbiostock_image_processor.php

I'm not on a computer that has the code on it at the moment, so please forgive me if my memory is failing me.

I didn't want the search engines to associate my website with that terminology, so I changed the code so that it would say "Stock Image".  But that change will only affect new images that you add to the database from that point forward.  It won't change the images that you have already uploaded.  So I also had to run a few database queries to change those as well.

I'm not sure how to turn off comments on the mini-pic though.  There must be a setting somewhere in WP for that.

I am using google.com. And I agree about the other two points. My main concern was why certain things were showing in the search. I did a search from my work computer, and got different results (as expected). I see a lot of results are datasheets...I will be glad when those disappear.

The problem with turning off all comments is that I have a blog, so a simple, turn off all comments plugin probably won't work. As for bad behavior and some of the other more complicated plug-ins...I don't want to risk blocking the things I am trying to do, which is sell. Others have reported issues and had to uninstall or they know more code and wordpress than I and know how to configure them.

But I will try a few of the things suggested and maybe that and time will correct the rest of the issues.
