I recently added a plug in to allow for registration using social media.  Social Login 4.4.  It seems to work fine except for the registration screen.  I have two attachments, one without the social media and one with.  As you can see, the one with social media is out of alignment with the heading for Register and User Name in the wrong place.

Is this login/register form editable?

Or is there another fix other then disabling the Social Login plug-in?

The latest version of the Clean child theme from Amanda fixes this - or at least it does on my site (I don't use this plugin, but I think her latest code allows you to directly modify the code around this page.

I loaded the Clean Theme 2 before I loaded this plug in, this only showed up after I loaded the plug in.  I will check with Amanda about a fix.

Thanks.

Hi David, just saw your message.  This would need a custom CSS fix to work with that plugin, since they all come with some of their own styling rules it can be a bit tricky and throw things off.  I am sending you some custom CSS to try out (see email) so let me know if that works.

I believe SymbioThemes and my other sites had some scheduled downtime today, Bluehost sent out a notice about server upgrades so that may be why you had trouble accessing things earlier. (I also made sure the log in widget is back on the sidebar, sorry about that!)

Somewhat OT but I was always wondering if users/buyers really don't care "releasing" their social networks log-in credentials on a non HTTPS site?

Is there a justified security concern here?

I have yet to figure out and understand how one can log on to a site using credentials from another site  :o

Sorry for the stupid questions. Enlightenment is appreciated.  :)

Those are interesting concerns.  There are some security concerns for the user depending on what information is gathered by the interface.  For my use, I only gather the user id and password (which is encrypted).  I use a service to provide the interface, so I am relying on them to provide security during the process.

I am hoping that using this will encourage clients to sign on as a convenience.  Using the social media interface is an option, if the client is uncomfortable with that, they can still use the option to create their own user id.

There are a couple of short articles that give a lot more details.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_login
http://www.socialtechnologyreview.com/articles/social-sign-what-it-and-how-does-it-benefit-your-web-site

I don't know if that helps or not, I welcome feed back.

David
