only 1 sale so far at YaY.  It's got potential though...who knows.  I'll keep dumping my work on it because its just so easy.

Todd you were a big LO fan too. Maybe thats an ominous sign for Yaymicro!

If you have 3-4000 images and take away all the ones you have with the big 6. How many is left?   I´m kinda new with this. but why would anyone pay more at Yay than SS.  We gotta be more exclusive if we wanna sell at midstock sites. Am I wrong?

Maybe some of belives that there still is buyers that don´t want cheap crap:)

With so many millions of images per site I wouldn't worry that your image is priced differently on different sites. It's impossible for people to have a perfect knowledge of this market place. To shop price for a specific image across these sites would be a huge waste of time. If your image is NOT on a given site you won't make that sale, whatever the price.

Not sure how much advertising they have done. Did anyone of you come across a yay ad ? Online or print ?

I'm not making any predictions - I recently pulled the plug on new uploads to Canstock, because I can't see wasting the time uploading files every day to a site that doesn't produce for me.

If I don't see any more sales in the next couple of months on Yay, I'll probably stop uploading.  Time is money, and I just don't have the time to dump my efforts into sites that don't produce.

Could Yay be another Lucky Oliver?  Sure.  I still made at least $300 in image sales off of them though.  It's not much, but I have no regrets with jumping on board with Lucky Oliver.  You take a chance...but it's not that big of a chance.  What do you have to lose with a site thats a dump and click?  I'm on Fotomind as well - only had one sale there so far, but I'm being patient for now.

Has anyone had a sale yet?  I might upload this week if they have.

They showed a lot of promise right up until the minute they opened for business, after that it's all gone quiet.

It's not rocket science, why do so many of these sites think they will get sales just by being there, agressive marketing is the only way to become a success.

Yay have missed the boat, why open for business but wait a few months before starting your marketing campaign, they've completely lost their USP.

I wonder if their first ad will be along the lines of:

'Yaymicro - we opened a few months ago, we're not getting any sales and now people are deleting their portfolios, come take a look'

sharpshot

I would much prefer they advertised from the start but I think it is too quick to start deleting now.  Might as well see if they do something after the summer holidays.  I will give them until Christmas.

I don't remember the specifics, but I think they wrote they would begin advertising in the Autumn when they had amassed enough images to attract customers.  It might be wasteful to do an advertising blitz now with only 250,000 images online.

I was browsing through the Shutterstock forum recently, looking at posts from a few years ago.  Plenty of people talking about the lack of sales, and how they were going to pull their ports.  Honestly, how many sites have sold a decent amount of images in their first 3 months online?

I have no idea if Yay will be a success.  Frankly the odds suggest they will fail, just like other recent start-ups.  But they just went online a month ago.  If you were this impatient, why did you upload in the first place?  My stance has been that I wanted to see advertising by Autumn, and at least a few sales by late Autumn.  If not, I'm gone.  But I'm at least waiting for them to follow the time table they drew out for us.

I never uploaded to them. After Albumo fiasco (I still delete my images one by day) I stopped to waste my tiime with all new sites with "fresh approach" but without money. I pulled my portfolio from Crestock, Canstock. Glad that LO is no more there. I can live only with IS, SS, StockXpert and macro.
