I uploaded batch of some news images (first time) and there is problem - Finished Uploading (17 successful / 8 failed)
Take a look...
Any ideas what is wrong with that? All files in the same folder on hard disc... All with the same IPTC... technically ok...  ???

I have seen these sorts of errors when uploading - I think because the computer was also busy doing other stuff which included significant disc activity. For example I think I saw that error a few weeks ago when at the same time as uploading I decided to move some other files on the same external drive. I think there was a USB related disk access bottleneck.

And I may have seen this error when there has been a temporary loss of internet - perhaps a glitch on the ISP side or the wifi went flaky for a minute or two.

Don't be doing anything else on the same computer when uploading and don't let the computer sleep is best IMO.

I've had the same issue when uploading news. Best to let the photos upload and not do anything else as bunhill says.
Just upload the missing ones again and don't worry about it. It doesn't happen often.

I haven't uploaded news often (and not for a while) and it has happened probably every time. Once it took me over two hours to upload a smallish batch.

The first time I uploaded news, I uploaded and left it to get on with it and came back to find some hadn't gone up, didn't really think about it, 'managed' those which were up (for speed), then uploaded the rest and got a 'row' for putting them up in two batches.

Anyway, I've never had anything sell off the news feed (haven't uploaded much news, to be fair - got disheartened when two newspapers ran really dreadful old technology phonecam photos)  but one has sold later as secondary editorial.

I upload via the FTP route 99% of the time and I've never seen this error.

I had an instance where the image editor felt that my images were more "stockworthy" than "newsworthy" (I won't get into details) so they changed the submission date in the background to be 3 months prior and the two images were sent through the regular QC process.

It could be that your images were rejected as not being newsworthy.  I would send a message to Member Services or to the Alamy Live News Editors.

This is not a rejection; it's a technical error in uploading (The clue is in the name: 'file not accessible') and has been mentioned often in the forums.

When I started in Alamy, it was fairly regular in normal uploads too.

I just uploaded 45 new files by regular upload, no problems with that. Fast and easy... With News it is not possible to make 10 or even 5 files processed.
I got acces to FTP News, and soon will see how it works :)

I uploaded 43 images via the FTP route for three related news stories Friday and Saturday.  No issues.
