I went to One Stop Digital this week to purchase the 6D at 1300 euros. I had it in my cart, wanted to pay the next day. It was no longer in my cart and now cost 1420 euro. I emailed them about this , but they replied that can no longer offer at 1300 euro.

Very disappointing. So I want to purchase it of Appletronic now. Looks good to me. http://www.applelectronic.com/canon-eos-6d-camera-body-983.html

Anyone have experiences with this store?

Check this

That seems a bit too cheap to be legit. When something is too good to be true, it isn't. Plus he's got less than 100 reviews, so he's no business. I'd stay clear.

There's no BUY IT NOW on that auction so that isn't the asking price to purchase. The starting bid was $1319 and the current bid amount is $1375. Seller is hoping it goes up higher based on an emotional bidding war.

Thanks for your blog report. Interesting log of the travels of your 6D to get to you. Wish I knew how they can get it into Europe without paying VAT somewhere along the way.
I checked the price of the same cam in NL at one of the cheapest outlets and it was 1325 ex VAT @21%.
As VAT reg business I get it back but have to pay it first!

Hong Kong doesnt have VAT. They clear the item with customs and then ship it. Thats what I understand

Thats a very good price, ex VAT. Same as my camera. Goes to show that by being savvy you can save 700 euros. I am buying speedlites, SD cards and extra batteries from the savings I made.
