Interesting that they promised the same thing in terms of placement to many of "us small people" 4-6 months ago. It is nothing more than lip service in my opinion.  They are making promises that have a foundation of sand.

They're a shady company. Been so since the beginning. It's no surprise that they would be making promises they can't keep, or perhaps never had any intention of keeping.

Notice when somebody writes some bad comment here a new user shows up to defend them. Notice they are ranked at growing on the site survey bit that doesn't match the forum post. New members ad new votes DP has always green arrow. Makes them look like good place to sell. This is the way they work and I don't trust them at all. Now making offer that speaks from both sides of their mouth. Promises better deal for new uploads. but forgets the people who helped them start up. I won't join some place I can't trust.

Am I am the only one here that has increase sales every month at DP? I group on facebook I see that other have increased sales too. Therefore the green up arrow on the right site here does not surprises me. I would even go so far to say that soon they may hold their place in the Top
Tier - Big 4.

I think every agency has their way to VIP some contributors in on way or the other in their search engine. They are only not so upfront about it. And their strategies is changing from time to time too.

This promotion system was there at DP right from the beginning. The only different was that in the first 3-4 month everyone qualified and then they change it to an VIP status. They just don't talk about it all the time.

And as long as I have an increase in sales every month, I don't care if there are some contributors have a VIP status and get paid for their first 500 accepted images.

I've had 14 sales there in almost 2 years. They are no where near my top 4. I'm also not thrilled with this new VIP program. I came in just after they stopped paying for images. If I had known they had stopped I probably wouldn't have joined at all. I stopped uploading there and have been considering closing my account. Just haven't gotten around to it.

Is you portfolio size equal compared to Shutterstock or Dreamstime?

I uploaded the same images in the beginning. A combination of Deposit rejecting my best sellers at SS and DT and my stopping uploading due to lack of sales has left Deposit with around 100 images less than SS and DT.

Don't know if it makes a difference with DepositPhotos or not, but I try to upload a minimum of 5 images per week. Maybe that makes me more visible? Just as it used to be with Shutterstock, that you had more sales if you upload on a regular bases.
