Yeah, they give you money, just for acceptance. I submitted 5 and one of it was accepted. But that was also the best I would say.
Sale price is the same. Ok I will let you know..

Congrats.  I was thinking about taking some photos of the lunar eclipse and submitting them to DT, but never got around to it because it was already in full eclipse before it rose above the horizon.  By the time it came over the treeline, it had already come out of full eclipse.

FYI: Freezing: Your portfolio links don't seem to be working.

Yeah, tried that too - I am Red_moon_rise after all. But since I live near Geopappas having a moon rise at the hight of the lunar eclipse - just did not produce enougth light for sufficient exposure. I tried the whole Saturday to rent a 5D but nobody has it here in the triangle - bummer. The pictures that I did take (600mm/5,6) were either at 800 or 1600 ISO so they needed a heavy dose of NR. therefore DT did not except them.
Well next eclipse is in August I think.

Thanx Geopappas, just fixed the link.
I was lucky, there were almost no clouds here in Southern Germany, contrary to the rest of Germany.
Got my first dl  ;D large  ;D

Thanx Geopappas, just fixed the link.

For some reason, the portfolio links (the small icons at the bottom of each thread post) are still broken for me.

what's really stupid about their news related images is you still need releases if people are in the shots, who ever heard of that, SS or Alamy don't require releases,

Yeah the links are all broken. You only need to add your user name or ID into the fields provided. (Not entire web address). Check another users profile for an example.

I don't know how Shutterstock gets away with selling Royalty Free editorial images - it's very strange and very risky from a legal standpoint.

At Alamy, if it is editorial with recognizable faces, then you are supposed to sell under a Rights Managed License.  You are also supposed to restrict the usage to editorial only (though very few restrict the usage).  This is listed under the "Important Considerations" section here:
http://www.alamy.com/licensing.asp.  This is why Alamy changed the contract last year to reserve the right to switch a royalty free image to rights managed.

I took many shots of the eclipse, but they're too small with my P&S.

I put one at SP if you're interested.

I sent them a few of Mardi Gras parades within hours of the parade passing...they said that Mardi Gras wasn't news. But one of their examples of what is news is parades.  Sheesh!  I give up on these people...I'm waiting out my 6 months.
