ok,for me it's the same, the next ones are now 7 days old.

However,in my opinion you should do many more, one a day is too little.

at least you're selling something,a very bad week for me so far!  :(

Well, very tiny uploads compared to you...but more sales...

I will try to upload a little more, perhaps 2 videos a day ;)

hahaha!  :D

You are probably more skilled and fast with images.

I just hope that all the work I'm doing will make some difference in near future.

I'm going all in on this one.

Just out of curiosity, how many authors are there on adobestock?

Because so many designers are there and have an Adobe subscription, they probably have a few million. But that does not mean they are all actively uploading.

I think SS used to say they have 300k creators, istock something similar.

And if you combine that with the size of various forums and groups, I would think there is maybe 100k worldwide really doing stock seriously, with the top 10 000 probably producing the majority of the sellable content.

Now with ai Adobe might have gotten a large fresh influx, but since a lot of their production is automated, their upload volume is much higher than the number of creators.

Eyeem also claimed they had 30 million producers, but that is probably just the number of people using their app.

Although stockagencies are easy to sign up to, most people give up very, very quickly because they underestimate how much work it is and how many years it takes to get a reliable income.

eta

also you are only competing with the creators who produce for your very specific niche. For vietnamese street food, perhaps there are less than 100 creators filling that subject on a regular basis.

same for children in bed with an illness, old people needing a sleep mask...etc...once you drill down into a theme, there is much less competition than you think.

the large file numbers hide that actual detailed new content is only uploaded very little, the majority are duplicates of duplicates.

Thank you for your reply. It used to be that data was easy to find as it was clearly stated on the stock sites, today it is difficult to find. Of course then making an estimate of really active authors becomes even more difficult especially as you say because of the thousands of authors who have appeared with AI. But I find your estimate probably quite realistic.

So how is the start of everyone's week looking right now?

May is going badly for me at Adobe. While istock and shutterstock are making the same stable sales, depositphotos has left Adobe behind in both sales and earnings this month.

As of May 13, Adobe has fallen to 4th place.

(Also, the photos I took for Ramadan are still waiting to be reviewed. I hope they won't be reviewed for another 9 months and will be available for sale in time for Ramadan 2026. :P )

Slow here as well on Adobe.

Adobe is pretty dead for me, especially the US time zone.

And since it is very difficult to get content in, my sales and rank will keep falling.

I also think the creator community is starting to switch agencies already. Why buy from a stock site that treats the creator community badly?

Focus on video then rank becomes less important  :)

I've had two vectors rejected so far, but I dont submit many. If a few more of the ones I have pending get rejected, I might have to stop uploading altogether. Support says they cant look into individual rejections, which is basically the same as saying nothing.

Edit:
Oops, this was meant for the other thread.

I am switching to mostly video for Adobe. But videos can take over a year to take off.

All my plans for the year are broken. I was on track for a very good increase this year.

My files all reinforce each other, I dont upload disconnected stuff.

I have a plan for video, but it cannot bring immediate sales.

The Adobe mess will cost me thousands of dollars this year.

Not funny at all.

Now I have to pray for an istock revival.

It's a bit early for me to tell (looking at my own results) but customers also might be returning to Shutterstock with Adobe Stock beginning to see some declining trends. I also see Shutterstock's share price has recovered some ground too.

The merger of istock/Shutterstock has a lot of potential with all the agencies they own.

They now basically control the editorial market. A market that Adobe is not really interested in because they mostly want graphic design elements for photoshop integration.

Adobe has a really good and very large ai collection, that is something getty does not have.

Which is actually good, because the two platforms have separated themselves quite nicely.

For creators the question is should we still upload to all agencies, or is it enough to just supply one entry point and then our content gets moved around allover?

We will see, but this is an interesting year.

I hope Adobe eventually comes around, I see no financial advantage in annoying the creator community with a random roulette algo.

A switch to other platforms, dropping Adobe software subscriptions is something that will happen very gradually, like it did with Shutterstock.

But if the creator community is being gaslit and ghosted, they will spend their money elsewhere.

If Dreamstime could secure some financial backing i am sure they would attract a lot of loyal creators and buyers.

Or maybe there is a new video platform coming up. Lots of very annoyed video creators that want to be able to set their own prices.

Interesting times.

My rank is dropping, I hope eventually adding the videos will help. It is just all my plans for summer/winter have been crashed by the roulette algo that prevents me from uploading my "plan".

let me complain a little too, since it's been trending lately!  :D

The only thing I'm not happy at all about Adobe, which is also the most important thing, sales.

since the beginning of this year it's been a complete disaster, except for April, which I managed to do a little more in terms of sales number, compared to 2024.

Let's just say that I'm starting to get a little tired of seeing these sales every day:

1-1-1-0-0-2-3-0-0-4-1-1-1

but what . is this?  :D

I can understand a bad week or a bad month, but this number does not reflect at all the amount of saleable content that is in my portfolio, let's say that at least an average of 5 sales per day would be more honest, for my current portfolio.

so I honestly wonder if this thing will ever change for me or not, sometimes I feel like whatever I do will never change anything.

However,I have already deleted 195 content from my portfolio,in an attempt to improve the overall look.

I think there will be nominations for the free collection soon,so for now I'll wait, but then I'll eliminate another 300 or so at least.

all my hopes are in these videos, the work i'm doing now, however if the sales continue like this,in the end I will probably delete all the photos and leave only the videos, because if I really have to make this crappy number of sales,at least I make video sales.

anyway,if things don't change soon I'm done,it all depends on how it goes with these videos.

Not so bad this week. 700+ assets, no AI

exactly,that's exactly what I mean.

I don't question the quality of your content or sales potential, but the main point is that you started a decade or more ago, otherwise you wouldn't be able to get these results with 700 assets.

it's a big mess,In Discord there are people with stellar sales in value and quantity, and many others who are having their worst month or worst week.

then i just read about someone who has 3 sales a week with 350 contents, and me with 20x content compared to this person, and with 10x your content, here's my week:

this all makes absolutely no sense,it's a big mess!

However,if things don't recover,as I said,in the near future,I will reduce my portfolio, keeping only videos and all the images that I have sold at least once, plus maybe 500 at most selected from the unsold ones.

I've got no idea why I still sell well. I was expecting the sales to drop, but they are still there.
I rarely upload new content, I don't give any free content away and I've got a lot of "bad" files in my port which never sold.

those few contents accepted in the free collection of the past were among the contents that sold best, once they left the free collection... as Mat said by the way,in one of his livestreams:

"it is likely that the contents accepted in the free collection will get more interactions, consequently they will be able to sell perhaps even more than others once they leave the free collection"(I don't remember the exact words but something like that)

Mike..I don't know it's strange, this whole sales story is strange, mine seem like a program that repeats itself.

I try to be strong and keep going, but then I see the sales and they are really too disappointing.

I'm trying these videos consistently now,but will my consistent way be consistent enough?

will there ever be anything that is ever substantial enough?

It seems to me that here we do nothing but run, always run,but without ever getting anywhere!  :D
