Hi Shutterstock Artist,You have earnings in your account! If this amount is not claimed as soon as possible, your unclaimed earnings are at risk of being transferred to the state of Delaware, US.Take a moment to log in and collect the money you have earned!

looks like fishing.

Your thoughts on this mockery?
Or it is the raving reality of insane 2024?

I think it's from Bigstock and the tax form has expired.
It's says:
Thank you,
The Bigstock team

Mine does not cite bigstock.  I have been gone from there for years.

For me the mail starts with "Hi Shutterstock Artist" and ends with "Thank you,The Bigstock team".   ???

The "request payment" option method isn't even an option on Shutterstock, but it's available on Bigstock, so that makes more sense.
I think they want everyone to collect their earnings so they can finally shut the page down for good. They haven't even been accepting new submissions for a long while now, so we all knew that's where they were heading.

Probably it's not fake. I logged in at my bigstock account and there is indeed a payable amount.

The email I received was addressed to shuitterstock contributor but said I had unclaimed income on Bigstock so I logged in through my Bigstock account updated my tax info and requested payment which all went through OK.
I also checked my shutterstock tax form which I suspected was also out of date, I submtted a new form and that was also approved.

I got one too.   I suspect everyone that reached payment threshold got one.     It's simply a bug somewhere in their system because of some recent software change that hasn't been tested properly.
Their support will be swamped & lots of arrows flying across to Development internally.

btw some would say Forums are thing of the past  (SS killed theirs, Adobe doesn't even have one) but this is exactly where MSG Forum is valuable as you can quickly figure what's really going on instead of waiting for days/weeks for support response.

I have also received the e-mail. From shutterstock. Without reference to bigstock, where I have not been offering for years.

In my e-mail all links lead to

https://click.esvc.shutterstock.com/

When I copy and paste this into my browser, I get an error message (see screenshot).

I think this is a fake, or spam, or that something has been hacked. So I wouldn't click on the links.

So I'll wait and see if something else comes from shutterstock.

Apparently these emails are legit. But there has to be a bug because I dont have any untouched earnings for several years. Been out of BigStock for at least four years. I may have closed my account there and left $5 in the account. Maybe thats what is causing it.

Thank you for reaching out to Shutterstock Contributor Care.

I understand your confusion about the message you just received, and I will do my best in order to assist you with this.

This is an automated email sent to all contributors who have unpaid earnings untouched for a couple of years. We are obligated to report and transfer these unpaid earnings to the state if you do not fill out an updated tax form and receive your payout, in those cases you will eventually need to contact the IRS directly to claim your earnings.

There are no additional actions to be taken as long as your payout settings are up-to-date and you are able to successfully receive payments.

Second that email is legit.  My link redirects correctly to SS Dashboard.
Again, this is simply a bug. Code changed, not tested.   There will probably be mass email clarifying all this by end of week.

I got the email too. I looked in Shutterstock earnings and it was just under ready for payout. So, I checked Bigstockphoto and just passed payout amount so I requested payout and it's in the system to payout now.
Based on past experiences and comments above I think it does seem less of a bug and I would think they are trying to clear out the payments in order to close and be absorbed into Shutterstock. As an above post said they haven't accepted uploads for a long time.
It would seem it coming that Bigstockphoto absorbed / added into Shutterstock as Fotolia was absorbed into AdobeStock.

Just got this:
Earlier this week you may have received an email from Shutterstock informing you that your unclaimed earnings need to be collected, otherwise they are at risk of being transferred to the state of Delaware. Please disregard that email, you should not have received that communication.

We are aware that as an artist who resides in Russia or Belarus, your options for receiving payments are extremely limited at this time. Your earnings can continue to accrue with Shutterstock until viable options for receiving payment from Shutterstock become available in your country.

We apologize for any confusion our original communication may have caused and appreciate your understanding

All Russian and Belarusian authors should be banned from Shutterstock and their works removed. It is very strange that Shutterstock has a policy of supporting Russians.

What's wrong with Russian and Belarus photographers? They just try to make a living out of photography. Why rob them from their income?
They are not the politicians and rulers who want war.

Yeah, stoker2014 has quite ignorant and primitive point of view.
When you are living under a totalitarian regime, you don't have any voice to express your opinion on situation.

Instead of pressing plain people arrest autocratic realty and their offshore assests, that will be way more effective. Strange thing that it is not happening on a proper scale.

Your second paragraph is not consistent, it is not clear what you wrote.

People always have a choice, but Russians have made their choice, support for putin's policies in russia is about 90%.

Russians and Belarusians are citizens of terrorist and Na.zi countries. They receive dollars (currency) which they spend in their countries to pay taxes (= support the military industry) and improve the economy (= weakening the sanctions imposed by the US and EU). Russians also support terrorism, genocide and murder.

It looks like you no nothing about autocratic regimes and about the life of generic people who have no rights at all. Your conclusions are very simplified and grounded.

In the second paragraph, I talked about seizing the assets of putin's associates who successfully keep billions in American and European banks. This is not happening in sufficient volume.

America and Europe fed this insane cannibal themselves, and these are the consequences now.
and the oil continues to be bought from him. Think this through.

1. Whose is Crimea?
2. There are never too many sanctions against Russians. Of course, russia and Russians should be banned 100% on all world markets. This is what I am writing about.
3. As for the miserable and wretched Russians, the population of russia is 140 million people. If even 10% of the population were against Naz.ism (and that's 14 million people), no totalitarian regime would be able to withstand protests that would overthrow the entire Russian government. But we don't see any protests from Russians, except for isolated protests (1-2 people).

A typical answer from a Russian orc and Russian terrorist when asked whose Crimea is.

Back to topic, I heard back from Bigstock, and it was a legitimate e-mail. I have requested my earnings. I used to wait until they hit $100, but that takes so long there now I guess I need to start doing it as soon as possible. Boy they really went downhill after 2018 or so.
