A list of partner programs

Exactly Right Tom!

We have lost control of our work. We don't know where it goes, who's distributing it, or for how much. It seems like almost everything is a SUB, so no payment relative to the final use, AT ALL! That's assuming all DLs and licenses are accurately reported.

I have tried to distance myself from these places with hundreds of partners. And they still have partners? The two left are SS and IS, and they have some deals, but nothing close to FT, DT, 123, and DP?

It doesn't take long to see a post every few days. "My photos are for sale on xyz-stock" and I wonder if they are stolen or a partner site. We let me answer... Both!  ??? People have uploaded and now lost any control over their work. And talk about competing with yourself? Anyone who wants can make a contract and has the collection from 123RF (for example) and as long as they pay some low, low, volume price per DL, they own all our work. No reviews, little overhead, small staff, just sell and skim the cream off the top.

And that reminds me, why I have to repeat, this is a great idea for a Subject and Thread. Trying to make sense and track some of these people.

I am just waiting for the 3rd and 4th party sales where we get basically nothing but each site skims their chunk from the sale. come to think of it, unless we knew the original sale location and price we would have no way of knowing that was what happened. ugh.

Amazing list. Thanks a lot for sharing it.

Another useful info to add IMHO in the 1st post/list, right below 'opt out: yes/no" would be if the agency shows the income from partners (Yes/No). So, if you get to know how much did you make from partners.

Have a great Sunday.

If somebody compiles the info, I'll post it.

I just wanted to add a detail.

It is possible at Panthermedia to opt out of Partner Programs, you find the checkbox here:
http://anbieter.panthermedia.net/pm/mediarights

(it's under "general settings / distribute to PM and distribution partners)

I found my images at Vector Backgrounds, and apparently they are a partner of some sort with Shutterstock?

http://vector-background.com/

Their pricing links just go to Shutterstock as do any download links - so other than a coupon code for 10% off, it's not clear why they exist.

Does anyone know anything about them? Is this just a link farm/referral fee farm?

Same sort of thing from Vectors 123

http://vectors123.com/author/Jo%20Ann%20Snover

Looks like its just a link farm as the transaction appears to take place at SS.  Since you end up having to complete the sale at SS, I did not add them to the list.

Sorry not to update sooner, but I'm no longer able to post process/upload stock (wrist problems) so I don't come here all that often.  Given that its 10 months since my last update and I could only find 2 new items to add, not sure that I'll make any more updates to this list.  Please continue to post updates here anyway since they will help everyone else.

Here is what I updated.
1-27-14 – added Pixersize to Fotolia
1-27-14 - added FeaturePics to Pond5

Does anybody know Rusmediabank.ru? Where do they get my images to re-sell?

What it comes down to is: it costs an agency money to hire more sales and marketing people, and to translate and maintain the site in all the world's languages.  But, they hear from someone who says he thinks he can do it.  They say - great! You create a site, we'll give you access to the images, and if you sell anything you get a commission - and it won't cost us a thing, because your commission comes out of the contributor's royalties.  And we justify it by calling you a "partner" as per our Weasel-Terms Of Service (WTOS).

Do you want a list? I see YAY, DP, DT and I think 123RF appearing on ShotShop Ibudgetphoto

http://www.microstockgroup.com/depositphotos/the-german-shotshop-reseller-of-depositphotos/msg365026/#msg365026

I'd have to take notes and verify the data, it could be more and some of the above I might be mistaken.

Are you sure about Shotshop? They only have files from DP as far as I can see.
Ibudgetphoto though has files from DP, DT and YAY.

I'm gonna crazy :(
Rusmediabank sells my images. They say they have it from Imagebroker... and I should not worry as I will be paid for every sell (I didn't). I don't know Imagebroker... Anybody? :(

stocked

I know Imagebroker it's a sub-agency. They don't do Microstock at least they say so.

Odd, if I try to go to ib.net, it takes me to ib.com? How does a site get images from a partner? This is strange if "Rusmediabank sells my images. They say they have it from Imagebroker..." where do they get them from if they aren't an agency, but are a reseller?  Someone please explain, I think I'm missing something.

And I'll go re-check what I thought I saw on  ShotShop.

Absolutly, I'm Wrong. ShotShop has no file numbers and names, Ibudgetphoto does. I adjusted the above message as well.

Also: I couldn't find one of my files on ShotStop but I found many on Ibudget which threw me a little. Sorry about the added confusion.

Ariene

Ok, fresh info from Rusmediabank, they've changed their mind and you can add them as partner site of 123rf.

Jo Ann Snover

Not sure if it's old news, but I looked at the DT partners list and a number of them are gonzo now - plus I didn't see http://www.ibudgetphoto.com/ on the list, but they are currently a partner.

Gonzo (not operating as agencies; some have random links to stuff):

boombucket.com
http://supprint.com/
http://www.brightqube.com/

Around, but doesn't actually sell - just lists and sale takes place at DT

http://www.morguefile.com/
http://www.picfindr.com/ (if you do a search, all the paid DT pics link to a free DT image - nothing to do with the image you actually clicked on or the terms you searched for. Really useless)

Around, but no DT images

http://picturesandbox.com/ (Flickr and Fotolia)
http://www.imagetrail.net/ (Pixmac and Deposit Photos; lots of broken links and messed up behavior)

Photogenica Poland takes images from Depositphotos? All my old images from DP are there...

Yes, Dollar Photo Club is using the Fotolia api.  Sales through DPC are posted to your FT account with a subscription commission.

This garbage is getting way out of control. Really frustrated with these partner programs and API distributions recently.

I'd say this is the single most damaging practice going on in stock today. It's also the biggest motivating factor in my goal for the year of starting to expand my work outside of microstock. Forget the pricing "race to the bottom", 15-20% royalties, even the getty embeded viewer, I think this right here is where it's at when we're talking about industry killers. These programs have already proven to be capable of reducing our royalty percentages to single-digit figures. Not to mention what other nefarious things could be going on, like sales going completely unreported (which I suspect is highly likely).

Ariene

did I mention?
Ibudgetphoto.com from Dreamstime?

Hi,

Does anybody knows freewebphoto.com ???

I've discovered some of my images here but can't find any partnership with a more established agency ...
