sales keeping slow well just started 4 months ago

up to now i got 250-350 pictures and 20 clips, review of 4 months

DT - 22 sold
Alamy - 1 in first day i joined lol
IS - only approved 50% of my stuff but got -4 sales up to now
Veer + CanStock + pond5 - 1 sale
Canva - joined just few days ago - 1 sale
Shutter, going very good 2-3 sales a day in avrage - best seller but 0.28 * X dose not get my far
RF123 - 10 sales

any ideas how to generate more income? tyred 3 art photos on FineArtAmerica tough i will give it a try

well i think i need those as my primery (99.9%) incom is from professional photography in the last 10 years

Stick with client work, seriously don't neglect them or someone like me will come along and poach them from you while you chase the micro stock mirage.

Returns for new work are on a knife edge these days and returns are getting smaller and smaller as the libraries grow. I'm just uploading a backlog of work now, not spending a dime on new shoots as it just isn't viable anymore.

You can see by your own figures theres not much money in it, SS 2-3 sales a day with 250 photos if you add 2500 images what are you going to get? $10 to $30 per day, you have to ask yourself how is your time best spent.

well my clients are top prioerty, i do stock on the weekend and spare time

when i do test shots for models i make my stock on the way

i wanted to give it a try, i guess i will take the leg off the gass and just upload stuff that gets on my way, i really didnt mean to get rich out of it, just make etra 1-2k a month after building a good portfolio over 1-2 years

guess il let this year end and make statistics on the end

just tougth i am missing more sites, or quantity or quality

That (linear) calculation might work if 2500 images of similar quality were added immediately.
Realistically, by the time those 2500 images are added to the port, the linear projection due to competition and similar images won't apply, and the daily income would be (based on today's figures) only in the $5-$10 range.

any ideas how to generate more income? tyred 3 art photos on FineArtAmerica tough i will give it a try

250 pictures in 4 months are too few my friend, if this is just a hobby is fine, but if you plan to earn more, you need to improve your numbers.

You are only uploading 2 images per day, in comparison I´m uploading 16 per day.

The only problem is motivation, is difficult to create images when you don´t know how much money are you really making.

My method is translate what I want(equipment, trips, activities) into images. Example: if I want a macbook pro(early 2011) 13" I need 1823 images to buy one per month.

This as being great to my productivity and I recommend this method to everyone dealing with motivation issues.

well motivation i have, i guess il just keep uploading them on my spare time and create new stuff on the way.

but frankly,

the most insightful n realistic of all responses u will ever receive is this one from LesP.
this n flipping burgers will certainly increase ur income with certainty.
anything else, is like all the other "stock" (investment) with their waiver "historical data is no proof of future earnings" etc etc

It's impossible to predict these days, there was a time when you upload x amount you could see your income increase by x amount and extrapolate potential earnings. That was when images were downloaded by pay as you go.

Now income yo-yo's quite violently between PAYG and subscription royalties, and the trend is more subscriptions across all the sites making returns unsustainably low.

The mistake I made was uploading everywhere, waste of time, just upload to SS, Fotolia, iS and Dreamstime. The other sites will just suck up your time for little or no return.

If you are a professional photographer I would just go straight to Macro, Getty, Corbis, Stocksy or Offset, they have the bigger clients and shooting higher end work will be much more satisfying.

I'm still working with 6, but will stop uploading to DT, CS, BS.

The Top 3 is responsible for 93% of my revenue.
In time it will be Top 2... and then just SS... till the fun is over...

It is not only number of pictures that matters (by the way, 350 in 4 months is not bad at all for a newcomer). It's about the quality of these pictures (by quality I mean stock oriented and salable).
I don't recommend Getty, Corbis etc for a beginner. Only if you are world class talent. Also, I don't think higher end work is what Getty and Corbis are about.
You can generate more income by constantly improving your skills, learning and working hard.

with 20-30$/day you can live fairly well in any third world country if you're alone, 30-40$ if you've a family.

well after keywording the pictures on a word file, it dose not really matter for me if i upload it to 5 or 10 sites, it's just few more minutes of work, i don't resubmit stuff rejected for stupid reasons just don't have time to handle the rejction absord these days

im in the swamp so lets stay and see what can we do in it, like i said il keep the fire but won't burn my self for it
